I have a Standard 2010 taller screen, a Calsci extra tall and wide and a laminar lip.  But do you know what for me outperforms all of them?  The spoiler off my Givi airflow AF330 which I've fitted to the standard 2010 screen! :mfr_lol:
I serviced the front bush on the electric screen mechanism to take any play out of it first mind.

interesting. ..very interesting.

Have you got any pictures

I ask because I had the excellent Givi Aer flow on a Versys 1000, its ugly but very effective, also because on my current latest model GTR the screen has been changed with the addition of a vent on the lower part of the screen, which I suppose is a nod towards the Givi Aerflow design.

If you have a pic of the AF / standard screen engineering would be greatly appreciated!
The Givi Air-Flows are the best ever! had one on a GS1200 and my Superten, fantastic for both me and Jen up back!
Had an original MRA vario fitted to my old (2002) Varadero, that was the same design as the Givi AF, before MRA went to the small flexi screen - never as good!
If any Givi reps are out there - take note - AF needed for GTR's!     :ohplease:

Living down under, I'm probably a bit bias.  A great screen made here is from eaglescreens.com.au
I'm 6'3" and I had a custom one made.

After mucking around with cardboard cut-outs that were duct taped to the original screen (in order to gestimate the height that suited me), I had one made to 605mm which is between the touring and extended touring screens that are available.  I have no trouble what soever in keeping dry and out of the wind and most important no buffering.

I have recently put an MRA screen on mine (Thanks Mark) and it works well for me. I am only 5-6" ( no shortarse comments please ) and I think thats where the differences are. Different screens for different heights,

Incidentally, our Blood bikes are all fitted with the OEM screen with the adjustable lip added to the top. The lip on one of them is now missing after the bike was dropped (not guilty) and its really awful to ride compared to the others. We will be replacing the missing one asap.

Unfortunately, screens will never be a one size fits all.

All the screens mentioned in previous messages are a little on the expensive to buy just to find that they are not any better than the origonal equipment. Try the cheaper option. I bought a tinted, taller screen from Skidmarx for £70 about 2 years ago. Works a treat and still going strong, made of thicker plastic than the OE. Give it a go.

Are any of them equipped with the newer standard screen?

Hi everyone.  Thanks for your interest in my Givi screen.  I've been trying to upload some pics for some time but without success.  I will keep trying

No, the newest 2 are on 14plates and don't have the cut outs in the screen.

I have just fitted MRA screen the taller one, I am five foot ten, and playing with the little wing thingy on top, has improved wind noise at high speed especially noticeable at the higher end of the bikes performance, plus its smoked and looks far better than standard screen.

Anybody changed the newer screen?
If so what with?

I'm guessing your screen is the vented version like mine, what do you think of its performance ?

Yep I do.
Not that impressed with the wobble. but it does protect fairly well I guess.
not had it long tbh.

I've had the stock 08 screen but it wobbles your head back and forth.  Terrible on the pillion rider.  I've had the Kwackers tall screen.  It's ok.  I had the CB Euro and it was ok but I've settled in on the CB Ultra Tour Dome.  I'll run the stock 08 in the summer at times so it's between the stock 08 and the CB Ultra with the CB being used 90% of the time.  Get better gas mileage with the stock 08. Bear in mind that anything you do that affects posture (seat, bars, etc) can affect how the screen works with the bike.

I've been trying to upload photos of my Givi screen but the upload time keeps timing out.  It may be that my broadband is too rubbish, I've even tried zipping the files.
Anyway, in brief, I serviced the electric screen mechanism to take out all play and wobble. Next I made a masking tape template for the holes to be drilled and very accurately marked out the standard fairing to fit the standard Givi AF330 mounting turrets. I carefully drilled the screen and fitted the turrets, then slid the air blade into position.  These turrets are adjustable to give the blade about 100mm of adjustment and it can be locked into various positions.
The finished job actually looks factory, the blade seems to suit this bike better than the adventure bikes.
I tested the blade worked before I committed to drilling by taping it in position.
What is it like?  I designed it so that my sweet spot is in the middle of the adjustment range, which for me is with the blade just proud of the top of the original screen.  I also have the electric adjuster on position 3.
Buffeting and noise are greatly reduced, like they are when this blade is fitted to an adventure bike.  It is not absolutely perfect, there is still some light wind noise.  Like all screens, it cannot protect from crosswinds or turbulence following vans.  For me, on a touring bike, its all about covering vast distances, quickly and comfortably and a good screen cuts down rider fatigue massively.  My biggest day to date was 440miles and I was fresh enough to hit a bar afterwards thanks to a screen that works.
I have tested this screen at over 135mph and it is absolutely stable, the Calsci XL would be touching your forehead and the laminar whistles above 100mph.  Good compromise I'd say.  The bits are around £50 new on Ebay.
