Has anybody used the laminar lip?  Is it any good?

What crash protection do people recommend? I've looked and I'm just confused.

Aftermarket exhaust cans. Akrapovic is the best but so bloody expensive. Anything else recommended and will the engine mapping need changing if I decide to change the original?

That'll do for starters.  :innocent: :innocent:

Laminar lip is awesome, at 6' 3" it's a bonus when right up.

R&G engine bars, I had once to simply lie the bike down on its side and they protected everything.

Beuwolf is what I have, good price and quality along with a nice sound.

Ducati owner now but I used to have a Black one, the fastest version.
Previous, Sprint ST (2), VFR 800, Fireblade's (4) SP1, VTR1000, GPZ900, CB250, BSA Bantam D14/4, Suzuki TS100, SX200.

Most cans do not need a remap to work ok ,the fuel injection will take care of it , but a k and n filter a fancy can and a good remap will work well , I have a two brothers can on mine and is well made and not two loud ,

I got the Laminar Lip and it's awesome. I can ride at 80+mph with my visor open

If you get one I recommend you bolt it on using rivet nuts.. Im on my 2nd as the first flew off at 120mph...  :mfr_lol:

Ok laminar lip ordered. Not sure about a can yet, I'm a great believer in stealthy speed.

I got a scorpion on mine. Off ebay for £180. Looks brilliant and sounds ace.

I had a Bewulf on a Bandit which I sold last year. It was OK, but no where near as good looking or sounding as Scorpion (IMO).

I'm looking at the Delkevic's on Ebay, various ones for the GTR starting from about £129.  I've not tried them, but at that price probably worth a look.  The 350mm is road legal :innocent:

Laminar lip......hmmmm.......it does something, but not a major benefit for me at 5'11", might try Debs idea and bolt it on a tad higher. :undecided:
Cans, bought the 350mm Delkevenic can when I bought me bike, really looks good and the note is just right, not a copper magnet, all good! 10 minutes to swap back if needed, link pipe supplied with brackets fits spot on.
Crash protection, I went for the genuine Kawasaki crash bars from a place in Germany, £230 instead of £400 in UK, with R&G mushrooms on front spindle and shaft / swing arm, not tested yet but real needed insurance!
If any pics or info needed let me know.

I'm thinking of exhaust change so would love to see picture of that exhaust. Thanks in advance.

Runs no different with the DK can on than standard, just looks good and sounds right.
Dunno what power increase is added, never use it to the max anyway!
Did put standard back on for hols this year to save any hassles, 10 mins swap, but DK all BS stamped and acceptable!
And.......stonking value for money!

Great!  I think I may have to order one of those Delkevic cans, sound really good value.

Screen wise I was fancying trying the laminar lip as I currently have the Calsci tall and wide.  Yep, it works, raise it most of the way up and the buffeting goes, but that's not the end of the story; It is massive. You get hot behind it in summer, its so big on full lock it crushes your hands against the levers, it works like a sail in strong winds and it is probably going to tear right off at some point!  Oh and IMHO looks a bit rubbish on the bike.

So, thought I might give the laminar a go!

Looks like you went exactly the same route as me! Took the Calsci off for exactly the same reasons, can't say I'm overly impressed with the Laminar but should have played with it more before fitting it.
If you're up in the Midlands (Telford / Stafford area) call by and have a try, not sure when we'll be in Gloucester again to see the folks but if you want to have a go no probs.
