Met a guy on Tuesday in Mallaig telling me how fast his K1600 was and that GTR was not in the same league  :rolleyes :death:: Now bear in mind this chap must have been 65 if he was a day younger I would have been surprised.

Anyway cut a long story short. I extracted myself from conversation quickly as I could as I had just arrived on my bike in Mallaig when the guy approached me and started chatting :shit:. I went of looking for a toilet and a fish supper before heading home and had a chuckle to myself about this guys maturity level :whistling: :whistling: :whistling:.

Here is the best bit though who did I come across riding home????  You guessed right Mr K16 himself well a little fun was had by me :scooter: and although I appreciate that the K16 is a formidable bike in the right hands sadly for Mr K16 his were not the hands for the job and I think he might be trading it in sooner than later :mfr_lol:. lol

I ride about 15k miles a year and consider myself a novice rider in terms of ability but the part of the world I was in I know well and to be honest it was a chore watching this gent ride outwith his ability level just to stay in front of any other bike or car :gun_bandana: :gun_bandana: :gun_bandana:.

Sadly I think this chap is just an accident waiting to happen.

Makes me want to be a better humble and more considerate rider though and to remember your always learning when you riding your bike. Every year at start of season I always feel like a beginner no bad thing I think!!!
Ah Well you only live once! Although still have trouble convincing the wife lol

At that point, I'd have politely said "How interesting, please excuse me while I go for a shit" and left. :whistling:

This from the man with one of the scariest handling bikes ever. If you can ride that H2 fast in the twisties,.... then you are good.  :mfr_lol:

Me thinks the challenge would be to ride the H2 in a straight line  :mfr_lol:

:mfr_lol:  As you know George the hinged Triple is a thing of great beauty and requires...shall we say.... a little respect

I recall passing a couple of guys on street fighter type bikes heading down the lakeside road from Bowness on Windermere to Newby Bridge a couple of years ago....nothing strange you might say except I was on my H1b (1972 500cc Stroker)  I swear if it wasn't for the plumes of beautiful smelling Blue haze I would have seen the look of disbelief on their faces...more so when my mate on his GT750 Kettle then blasted past them ....oh deep joy  :mfr_lol:

I love that feeling.  :punk:
A tew years back I passed a GSXR1000 and a a ZX6R on one of my favourite local twisty roads, Latchingdon to Bradwell.
I was on my 1989 GTR1000  and the ZX6R tried quite hard to stay with me.
I spoke with the Gixxer rider at the pub in Bradwell.
He laughingly asked for a rematch a week later as he was still running in the bike.
Turns out he races so I politely admitted defeat. :mfr_lol:
Local knowledge and riding every day really helps.
