Whilst on a recent tour an approaching car narrowly missed me and the air pressure created caused my left hand mirror to violently close. There are no contact marks on the mirror cowling but the force was sufficient enough for the decorative coloured panel to pop loose and disappear in the middle of nowhere. My question is whether this item can be purchased alone or is it part of the complete mirror assembly. The parts fiche of Cradley Kawasaki appear to show the complete assembly so prior to making enquiry of them can anyone advise further or does anyone have a spare panel in 2010 blue for sale?
It's big, it's blue and the plate says 'you have just been overtaken by a pensioner' and that really pisses sport bikes off.

I don't believe the coloured plates have a separate part number.  You must buy the whole assembly to get the cover (ridiculous, I know).

It's certainly not on the US parts lists..  e-bay would be a start or someone may have one.  I think I've got a red one myself off of an 09 mirror that I needed everything but that.

In Italy the same....the dealers not sell the cover part only, but you have to buy the whole mirror

Thanks for the replies. If I have to purchase the whole assembly I'll put the old base unit in the market section for anyone to replace a seriously broken, damaged or scuffed item for a reasonable offer. I'm just happy to get away without serious mishap from the incident or without the expense my tour buddy has when his GS expired from lack of oil despite a recent service and several shakedown ride outs.

ive had two mirror units off ebay over the last year , one was £15 and one was £25 , minor scuffing to mirror body but painted panels were perfect

Placed order Monday and received complete mirror assembly today. It is the whole unit with three bolts to be placed throug the fairing into a sub assembly. I did not wish to delve into stripping off fairings so took off the painted panel and clipped it onto the original unit. CAUTION - there are four press clips and two are visible behind the mirror BUT do not release these first. Prise the rear of the panel up and two vertical clips will pop up THEN release the two visible front clips which move back horizontally to release the whole panel. Replacement is the reverse and I now have a brand new LH mirror assembly put to one side. I think £100 would be a fair price should anyone want it as I was prepared to pay £50 for the decorative panel had it been available separately.

I d keep that mirror body until the day you sell the bike, that way you will be sure to never need it!

According to Sod's law you are absolutely correct - I'd like to think it being on my shelf would apply to everyone on the forum 😳

Hi Badaboum - thanks for the offer. These infill panels are 'handed' left and right so your one would not have fitted my mirror assembly plus the issue of spraying to colour match. Nice to know you have one available and it does have a value!!
