i have some gerbing heated gloves for the back on the hands!! didn't buy a controller with them so they are painfully hot in anything above -6 and below anything below 50mph.

I love this forum ....  :mfr_lol: The title is about heated grips .. I skip through the pages and there is a load of stuff about "linked brakes" ... no idea what they are   ...If you want really hot grip buy a BMW !!!
This is the culprit !

That's a bit more expensive than the Oxford grips.  :)
It also gives the linked brakes and traction control which I am personally not keen on.

Why do BMWs need heated grips........

I thought they only went out in fair weather...

A SLIGHT aside on heated grips.

I've just fitted a bit of extra wiring under the left hand fairing (2013 model) and thought I'd better check that all was weel after reassembly.  Yes, they grips are heating up.  Wait a bit they are warm, but not getting any warmer.  After pulling it all apart to check everything I turned to about page 659 (actually page 32)in the manual and there it is!!

temperature settings.
When the vehicle speed is 3 km/h or less, the dial unit repeats the following pattern until the vehicle
speed is 15 km/h or more.
2 Minutes - ON ←→ 4 Minutes - OF
F

In other words it won't heat up fully while sitting on the centre stand.  Not sure if I like that

Are we saying that aftermarket grips can't be attached to the existing controller?

It would be interesting to find out who supplies the grips to Kawasaki
