Hi LW,

I know from your previous posts that you have a well founded trust in the workshop that you use, it was a generic comment as I know lots on here have a well founded distrust of their dealers.

A good dealer will offer you the old parts so that you both know without stating it that its been done "properly"

Yes you are right, but it honestly never occurred to me to ask to look at the plugs. I completely forgot.

Deon

What has happened ( down here ) before is that the dealer replaced the platinum plugs with the cheaper version but charged for the platinum plugs     :gun_bandana:

And how can you be sure those old parts actually came from your bike?  :whistling:
The later you brake the longer you go fast.

- if your relationship with your mechanic is such that you , by default , will suspect that the work , whatever it was , was even done at all ... then perhaps its time to do all the work by yourself the DIY way.

- imho .

- ... me running for the hills ...

You may be stupid enough not to keep a stash of old plugs if you ran a workshop and wanted to cheat like that - I would!  :mfr_lol:

Yes but if EVERYONE collected their old plugs there would be none available for deception

Once again, It could only be Mecki

it's not the fact that they may not replace what they said they have  that would be a big risk for the dealer to take, it's on your receipt what as been replaced and what you've been charge for. it not worth the risk of them getting caught for a set of plugs or similar for the item which as not been replaced then give you a receipt with that item on which states you've paid for it :nono:  it's more of a concern that damaged is done which may not come to light for 12 months or more, by which case its impossible to prove the damaged was done by the dealer. like in Mr wolfs case, he knows who stripped the thread on the caliper mounting bracket but due to the time that gone by this can't be proved  there are good dealers out there  but I prefer to do my own servicing that way I know its done right. the only person that dose any maintenance on my brake calipers is me
getting on now...  but not as old as Rog or Geoff

Dealer lies. Dealer goes out of business
Dealer cheats. Dealer goes out of business.
Word of mouth can kill a business fast.
They all get found out sooner or later.

If you have a dealer that you trust, good for you.
I sort of trusted John E Vines but they are no longer a K dealer and I am now doing my own maintenance.
