Apologies first as  Iknow this will have been asked before. But which hugger would anyone recommend and does anyone have any pics they can post?
My bike is blue, so I guess I would have to get a black one or maybe carbon look

Thanks
We all know blue is the fastest!

I am planning on getting the £130 Skidmarx carbon one in the next couple of weeks. People who have this particular hugger have given good feedback about fitment and quality.

If you fancied the same, might be worth calling them and see if they will do a group discount.

Martin.
65,000 miles now. Loving this bike.

I have the skidmarx one in black on the best colour bike which as we know is black, fits excellent and looks good.

I just fitted a Pyramid plastics one to my bike this week and can recommend that, £89 and fitted well, 2 brackets, one either side, no drilling, plain black and gives good coverage .. didn't take any pictures of it but here's the link to their website picture...

Skidmarx for me, fits well, provides good protection, and the rear wheel can be removed without removing the hugger

Here's the GRP version, carbon is available too

I've a black skidmarx hugger which was approx £80.00 well made and fits well, can't see the point in paying another £50.00 for carbon when you can't really see the hugger that well when the panniers are on. unless you ride with your panniers off most of the time, your not really going to benefit from the carbon hugger   but the hugger dose offer much benefit  it helps to keep the rear shock and rectifer and undertray clean from all the  :shit: that the wheel chucks up. considering the price of shocks, rectifers I think it's a no brainer
getting on now...  but not as old as Rog or Geoff

Skidmarx for me. Cannot understand why Mr K does not fit them as standard.

Better to be old and grey than the alternative!

Thanks for the replies folks.

Ive looked at the previous threads on this now and some of the pics. So if i get a skidmarx I need to remove the exhaust? I assume thats easy to do? err- I'm no mechanic  :embarrassed: and the thought of it is well .... :sweatdrop: somewhat worrying cos I don't like undoing bits and pieces lol

I have a carbon one but whichever one you go for it is definately worth it, keeps all sorts of crap off the bike.

yes you need to remove the exhaust, but this is not problem  less than 10 mins to remove the exhaust  to gain excess to the right side torque arm bolt, skidmarx supply all the fixings to secure the hugger. but due the huggers brackets that hold the hugger in place "via" the torque arm bolts, the original locking nut only just covers the bolt thread, sikdmarx don't supply longer tourqe arm bolts, but they do advise you use a medium locking agent then torque to the recommended setting. I used the original bolts and locking nuts and use a medium locking agent and all been well since fitted 18 months ago  torque rod nut is 59 newton metres, if you don't have a torque wrench refer to the german tourqe.. Good-N-Tight!

Ah the penny has just dropped.  :embarrassed:  Thought you were refereing to something on the bike.  :hammer:  Had the bike done at the franchise owner of the All Year Biker's place so not responsible for the shitty state of the electricity box.
