There's a new outlaw in town  :biker3: ... tearing up the streets and leaving a chorus of honked horns in his wake...

Does he ride a Badass Harley.... nope
Does he ride a stripped down Street fighter... nope..

He's a middle aged bloke in Textiles and a Hi viz jacket, usually branded with some sort of advanced riding course, riding an Adventure Bike.... and he's a fukking Knobjocky!!!

Seriously the next time i get cut up by one of these wankers i am gonna remove his crash helmet WITHOUT first undoing the strap.  :hammer:  :censored:

As you'll know if you read my 'Mogs goes up north' topic ... i came across a bunch of these fucknuggets on the way to Windermere... a dozen or so of 'em carving through the traffic, dispite the fact the visability was down to 50 yards and the road was very slippery.

And once again yesterday i was treated to being 'waved' at by some twat on a Ducati multistrada... wearing a Hi Viz Bike Safe jacket!! FFS!!

We were in Leicester to see my daughter and trying to navigate the ring road, now i had to cross 3 lanes to take a turn... I could hear this knob head short shifting through the traffic behind me, so i was carefull when I crossed the lanes... nope Mr Bike safe armed with his Hi Viz decided to ignore my indicator and try to cut round me... only reason I didn't take him out was because Smarty was looking out the back of the car window as he swooped over.... then he had the fookin cheek to wave his arms about!!!! Sheeesh! :hammer:

Anyway... so we are sitting on the M1, in the outside lane on the way home... nose to tail... in the traffic.... there are lots of Bikes about cos of the racing..so I'm looking down to the left hand side fer them filtering... when i notice a bike flashing his lights on the drivers side....  at first i thought it was the plod so i pulled over.... nope... tis 4 arseholes on GS's with the ally panniers on... forcing their way between the crash barrier and the traffic... and guess what!! they are all wearing IAM Hi Viz...  :censored: :censored: :censored:

Now I'm getting a tad tired of being lectured by a bunch of sanctimonious, holier than thou, tossers constantly telling me how good they can ride... if this is the general standard then it's no wonder the accident levels are high.

Now before you all have a go at me for being a fast rider, yup I do like to buff the odd slider, but i do it away from traffic, and if I should have an accident it will be my own... no one elses...

Oh and the stoopid tossers on the M1... I have 2 of the crews number plates and I have emailed the IAM this moring to ask what their opinion of that particular method of filtering is.

Mogs,

I do sympathise greatly!

That is the sort of riding that I fully expect to see, daily, in Italy.  Particularly with bikes (and scooters...) filtering through traffic anywhere where there's a gap.  No consistency etc. on both sides of cars, along the hard shoulder etc.

However, wearing hi viz IAM jackets?  Bikers behaving like that In the UK? hmmmmmmmmm.  Not expected, and dangerous.   :nono:

At least over here I don't think there is an IAM equivalent.... Or at least, I haven't seen any evidence of advanced driving skills so far.

I have to just let it go and keep myself out of trouble.    :surrender:

Sympathies with you Mogs ! When choosing the "next" bike after me Tigers I really tried to like the Beem GS/RS1200's. With their presence and comfort I was nearly sold. Thing that got me was a weekend at Touratech HQ in S.Wales - me on me Tiger surrounded by 99% (honestly) Beem GS/RS12's and their riders with the aforementioned panniers, hi-vis, 4 x spotlights on fairing/crashbars and the IAM roundall on the screen. Their attitude of "superiority" made me not want to buy one and get stigmatised the same.

On my weekly commute I gave up "nodding" to em on the opposite cariageway - I never get a response.

Have a better Tuesday eh!

O.C.

The world is full of tossers Mogs, and I know exactly the type of rider that you are referring to  :2guns:

Mogs you seem to be going through a bad spell at the moment! I know my gold standard RoSPA instructor on his GS went into the back of a hgv a few months back because he misjudged an overtake.  They can be a breed amongst themselves sometimes.

One of our RoSPA group on a group ride one day posted a YouTube video which I thought was nothing but dangerous. I commented to the author and was told to mind my own  :censored:  business.  I contacted RoSPA with the link and suggested they watch it which they did.. RoSPA then contacted me and informed me that the riding demonstrated on the video was not representative of the standard they expected their riders to abide by and they had the video pulled off YouTube.

Oh how I laughed!

I've seen people like Winston Smith ride and he is impressive on a bike and very highly skilled, and yet you get others who just take the piss.

Cartman

You beat me to it!!

I feel your pain Moggs, I really do! Yesterday I was filtering through traffic after going to the rugby, couple of guys on sportbikes behind me, dual carriageway, no problem. Drivers bring nice, everything good. Then utter FN 3 bikes back sees a gap in the traffic and tries to overtake all 3 of us, idiot! Yes you guessed it moron on a GS, bike safe hi-vis and the brain of a dead rocking horse!

Then this morning I was undertaken(!!) by an idiot on a Multistrada wearing a hi-vis all in one, on a blind bend. Clearly because I could see him he was invincible! Went to remonstrate with him and he told me he was IAM trained and I was in the wrong.....unbelievable

Wish I'd taken his reg.
Once you realise we are all mad, life starts to make sense

Taken in order...guilty (great bike), guilty (it's a bad thing to have panniers?), not guilty, guilty (and very useful they are too), not guilty, not guilty ('stigmatised'? why on earth would you care what anyone else thinks about you or your bike?).

Mogster, you need to change your posting name to Mr. Angry. I hope you have your heart checked regularly...I was going to add 'because of all that pent up emotion' but I guess it's not very pent up is it!

'I am a leaf on the breeze....see how i soar'......   :mfr_lol:

I am a picture of calm ... I just get annoyed when those that really should be putting the gloss on motorcycling, are in fact a bunch of idiots.

I have spent my life on bikes, I have raced 'em, crossed Europe on 'em, crashed 'em (sometimes very badly), been in clubs (the naughty Back patch ones :whistling: ), raised thousands of pounds for charitys on 'em and all in all wouldn't have swopped a mile that I've ridden, for any amount of money.

Most my biking life people have tutted as I rocked past, nasty, dirty, greasy Bikers... thats fine...cos that's what i was.... but this new breed of Charlie McEwan biker gets right up my nose.... there is summit about the combination of advanced riders and Adventure bikes that turns a normal person into an utter knob jokey  :hammer: ... they are bloody anti social and up their own back sides on the whole.

I go across to finchingfield .... cos the roads round St Albans are shite, now usually the boys and girls that go there are all dead friendly.
Apart from the Hi Viz, advanced rider mob... who just blank you when you say hi... oh and stare acussingly at my knee sliders  :gunsmilie: yup i get them fukkers down... whats ya problem..  :mfr_lol: at least i dont ride on the WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD!!

there was an accident earlier this year on the B1057...which caused a couple of weeks of speed traps and CCTV on the local roads .... due to a Rospa group on a ride out... one of 'em had done an over take and then sat on the wrong side of the road 'in an effort to idicate it was still clear to overtake'..... which was fine... unfortunatley he was looking behing him and ploughed into an on coming car.

Fortunatly no one was hurt... but seriously... WTF was he thinking...

I am ...on the whole... despite what you all think .. not (edit)  :whistling: always angry... tis just that somethings do promt a good rant!!!

It's easy for people who do not know anything about bikes to be 'scared' of bikers. Therefore, they will look down on bikers. Particularly those with ridiculously loud aftermarket pipes and hooners who have little regard for their own or other road users safety. But those who appear to be members of reputable organisations, with logos emblazened over their attire should know better and really do help give bikers a bad name.

I fully understand Mogs' rant and would like to see such 'knob jockeys' named and shamed. Or at least their 'affiliated' organisation alerted to their poor conduct.

Stick a GoPro on yer bike / car with a big memory card in it and always record. Then if something daft is photographed, send a copy to the IAM or Rospa or whomever and ask for their membership to be revoked, send to police etc.

If nowt happens, then vape the memory card and start again.

Failing that, somewhere I spotted an assault rifle mounted on a GTR.  Possibly on Facebook. That could be a more satisfactory alternative...

Grrrrrrrrr!

I guess we all attract something, me I might be called a babe magnet, but Mogs, as you seem to be a knobhead magnet, perhaps you should take the IAM test, buy a GS with big f*** off alloy panniers, a very bright jacket and show them how it's done. Perhaps you could teach them how to filter properly and finish by riding them over a cliff.
We could call you MRS!!   Mogs Riding School.
Don't let them get to you mate, take it easy, take your time and kill them slowly. Come up norf and I will buy you a proper pint, not like that over priced piss darn sarf.
