Last day off tomorrow before work beckons again  . So if anyone fancies a ride and a meet let me know, I'll be at Devils Bridge for about 10:30 am, then I'm going to head up to the Tanhill Inn for a light lunch before calling in at the Manor Cafe in Leyburn, on towards Otley and then finally back to Bradford.
It's only a short trip of 150 miles approx. No idea what the weather forecast is but we aren't scared of a bit of rain are we?

BigAlan

See, you have done it again, I would happily ride up and down on the bike but not when I find out the day before work. Oh well, I shall be riding to Liverpool shortly to get the steam packet ferry to the IOM for the Manx.

Good plan but I'm working unfortunately. Let's all keep posting these impromptu ride outs; you never know!

Its my last day of four off before I go back to work. I've been extremely busy the last three days and now I just need to let off some steam and get out on the bike.
Most of my rides are last minute arrangements.  :mfr_lol:

Steve, I would have loved a ride out and Tan Hill is a great place to visit, but I simply can't get out again today, as there are jobs to be done here

We (self and 100 miles away plus 3 others ) had a brilliant ride out yesterday leaving Devils Bridge at 10.30am, to Longtown for a snack, Brampton, Canonbie, North towards Jedburgh and then down through Kielder forest to Bellingham, South towards Hexham, and then on to Alston where we parted and I made my way back home down the 'Mini Stelvio' from Alston to Penrith and then  Kendal and finally home at 6pm... 235 miles in total and another great days riding in excellent company.

BE KIND...

How was your ride?  Think the weather turned out alright in the end.  Got your text thanks.  Ended up getting the 660.  Looks great on the bike and I've managed to wire it all in to the autocom for bluetooth phone connectivitity etc.

I had a great little trip.  :biker3:
As there were no takers   I headed up to Richmond in North Yorkshire first rather than going out towards Devils Bridge as I wanted to get some wax/polish for my Altberg boots. So I visited the Altberg shop and factory and bought a couple of tins at £4 each. That should keep me going through the winter months. Apparently they have two shops, the other one being somewhere in Italy.

From Richmond I headed towards Leyburn, home of 100milesaway, aka, Geoff but alas I couldn't see him anywhere. Not to worry, instead I popped into the Manor Cafe which was exceptonally quiet, so quiet, there was only me there. I made the most of it though I ordered the weight watchers version of a light breakfast. And bloody hell it was good. Just as well 2kwacks wasn't there as well as I know how fond he is of his fry up's after the Cotswolds trip. They'd have been nothing left.  :whistling:

Oh, almost forgot, on route to Leyburn I came across this unusual collection of junk in someones garden.... :whistling:

Never in a million years could you leave anything like that in your garden where I live, a certain element of the community would be having it away pronto and weighing it in at the scrap yard.

Then instead of going up to the Tanhill Inn, (couldn't see the point as I'd just stuffed my face) I went to Hawes on one of my many cheese runs to the Wensleydale Factory.
If you are fond of cheese then this place is a must visit.

Outside in one of the car parks to the factory was a visiting biker, never saw the rider but they must have been brave touring on this.

Just look at the size of that battery!!

With black clouds on the horizon I cracked on and decided I'd ride to Devils Bridge and see how busy it was there.

Only a handful of bikers at the bridge but one was an interesting chap. He was telling me about his bike which he'd 'created'. Looks normal (ish) from the front.....

But the back.....hmm.....

He was telling me that he got pulled by Squires a couple of days ago cause the Cops couldn't see his rear plate. I think they may have a had a small point :mfr_lol:

Thats it, decent weather right up to the point where I reached Skipton on the way home when it drizzled a tad. 180 miles approx, now back to work tomorrow

Great pics and report Steve, as usual....The Manor is a really good Bikers Cafe, I was there with Geoff a couple of weeks ago, he's "well known there ya know" come to think of it where isn't he well known   :mfr_lol:

Glad you had a good day sorry I couldn't join you.
