I did enjoy the sunshine today by taking all my bits off the bike. There's one rounded nut that isn't letting me remove the exhaust. I will get the dremel to it this week. The bike is back to stock. Most of my goodies I've removed. Some like the fender extender I've left on.

Thanks for all the messages of support. Last time I had an off, it took about 9 months for the bug to bite and I expect it will be about the same this time. The last accident I had was pretty similar and I swore to myself I'd get a big bike that would absorb the impact. The GTR was fantastic in protecting the rider. Also, the fact that I'm storing most of the accessories and not selling them is probably an indication that I will at some point get back on the bike.

Good man Asif, once the biking blood is in you it never goes away.

That exhaust sounds to good to sit in the shed, it needs a bike and when your ready I am sure your skills will come to the fore and on it will go to a suitable machine.

Asif, been busy for a few days and only just read about your off. Really sorry to hear about the damage to your bike but relieved to read that you are reasonably OK. Guess I can only repeat what others have written that you should take your time about deciding what you will do with respect to getting back in the saddle. As someone who uses my bike to commute every day I am constantly aware of how vunerable we are and that we appear to be invisible to a large number of other road users. I gues the only lesson we can learn from your accident is that when in Bradford drive a  :tank: .
Better to be old and grey than the alternative!

Ros

Nooooooooo!

Really sorry to hear about your spill, but also really glad that you walked away with just bruises...

Your bike looks so sad like that...

Rossendale Rider

Asif, best wishes from Ally and me.  Ironically, Ally said if you had had your baffle out, the dozzy driver may have heard you!  Anyway, quick recovery and get straight back out there.
Be Careful Out There!

Boomer

Asif, I told you about riding through Bradistan.  :nono:
Scares the bejeezus out of me when I'm in the car.
Not that Leeds is much better.

Glad you're only dinged and not broken.
As for the bike, well, what can I say other than,........ SPARES!  :mfr_lol:

Now go bug Lonewolf into lending you his GTR.  :hammer:
You need to get back on the horse asap.

Boomer, wash your mouth out with soap and water!! Lend him my GTR?  :mfr_lol:

Joking aside, Bradford is a hazardous city to ride in especially Bradford 3 area which is where Asif was passing through. Lets not forget it was only a week before this that I almost got rammed head on by a stolen vehicle and that scared the living shit out of me.  :sweatdrop:

Blimey... sounds like a proper war zone...  :surrender: :tank:
