I reckon you have too Asif, they're a great car if you get the 'S' version but cheaper ones are likely to drain you wallet faster than you think
Let's NOT talk cars.. They are :censored: boring... :hammer: :hammer:

They are fun if your a slim guy who can get out of it ok.
They are fun if you have small feet to cover the pedals.
They are fun if you want to drive it without the family wanting to have a go.
They are fun if they have been serviced ok and not by "my mate who knows everything".
Alan
DO IT!
although no one will let you out at junctions, haha
Don't do it.
Get a 4x4 with bull bars people will let you out and you can push porsche out the way in the snow :whistling: :mfr_lol:
A Porche? Really? Mid-life crisis time is it? :mfr_lol:
Get it, sounds like a plan!
It's only money that's stops me having lots of midlife crisis,,,, :mfr_lol:
You guys aren't doing a good job training me out off buying one :mfr_lol:
I only want it as a Sunday car really. Just fancy something different. I was even looking at Ford Capris!
Asif ... Get one
There are plenty about in that " cheap " bracket ... All with good service history and bullet proof to the end .. Perfect German engineering .. Fun motoring for very little money.

A Capri in the right condition could be pricey Asif BUT it is an appreciating classic/investment
Not everyone has a Capri whereas Porkers are ten a penny :whistling:

Friend of mine has one. Constantly moans about the amount of fuel it uses. Putting it lightly.
Had 5 years ownership...............wish I'd never sold her

Not a hairdresser car :punk:
The only car I've owned were the speedo moves faster than the rev counter
Charlie, how this brings back fond memories of me starting up the 1.2 ltr diesel Corsa's every morning at work......if only!! :mfr_lol:

Some lovely pictures of some lovely cars-but I'd like to stick in a plug for Land Rovers, classic, fun and really useful when things get 'iffy' out here in the winter countryside, let alone the fun of off-roading! I've got a series 3 and a Disco 2, will carry anything and go anywhere I want.
Here you go Charlie...

Thanks Debs :punk:
Wow, some really nice cars there.
So if you guys had a budget of around 4k, what old car would you go for?
My shortlist has been:
Ford Cortina mark v
Ford Capri
Audi TT
Porsche Boxster
Discounted the Fords as they are too expensive and I won't be getting much driving enjoyment from them - its more of a nostalgia thing.
The Audi and Porsche are hairdresser cars, but at the price they are being flogged for, I can live with that. But this thread has opened my eyes to some other classics that I may be missing.

how many german hot rods out on the street ?
less than 250 Monaro
less than 150 Avantime
Both are in their own way a little bit special and a very rare treat

My friend has a Porsche Boxster.. She loves it but if it's left standing for a few weeks the battery goes flat. Her partner who is also a biker has fitted an external socket under the front bumper so they can connect it to a optimate without having to get to the battery..
Mark 1 Skooby Impreza.
Merc SEC 500.
TR7 ? <LOL>
The Scooby's are ten a penny but still have a certain desirability factor to them. Oh & they're pretty fast.
If ya want a mid-life crisis car, the Skooby is the Daddy. Fast, furious, superb handling and you can get a pretty decent mk1 for 4k.

That's a neat trick and something that ive just done, my car is parked up all week and if I have a flat id struggle to gain access, ive used an optimate style plug behind the gril and have connected the male adaptor to my 12 amp battery charger
My truck battery goes flat if I leave it connected. I have one of those cutoff thingys on the battery. Works great.
So what do people think of the Nissan 350Z.....
Thats what I've been looking at recently. ;-)
Neil
Very nice looking car that!
The 350Z is a lovely looking automobile.
Just been looking at 370Z Nismo to blow away my Monaro Blues...............Rough old jap muscle car..............just as it should be :punk:

May be Asif needs to look at TVR ?
And just for us, Charlie, there's some good closeups of some 707 PanAms and a 727 in magnificent colour.
I've been thinking long and hard about the ideal car for Asif and I saw this in Leeds today and lets be honest, its ideal for him. :whistling:

The owner came back while I was there and just drove away without a care in the world as if he was just driving a regular car! Clearly there must be some substances involved somewhere which aren't available in Boots. :mfr_lol:
I've heard of rat bikes, but never rat cars... Quite colourful.

Seems to have a rash already...terminal.
