Friend of mine has one. Constantly moans about the amount of fuel it uses. Putting it lightly.

Some lovely pictures of some lovely cars-but I'd like to stick in a plug for Land Rovers, classic, fun and really useful when things get 'iffy' out here in the winter countryside, let alone the fun of off-roading! I've got a series 3 and a Disco 2, will carry anything and go anywhere I want.

Wow, some really nice cars there.

So if you guys had a budget of around 4k, what old car would you go for?

My shortlist has been:

Ford Cortina mark v
Ford Capri
Audi TT
Porsche Boxster

Discounted the Fords as they are too expensive and I won't be getting much driving enjoyment from them - its more of a nostalgia thing.

The Audi and Porsche are hairdresser cars, but at the price they are being flogged for, I can live with that. But this thread has opened my eyes to some other classics that I may be missing.
Find the forum useful? Please think about donating

Kawasaki 1400GTR 2009 - 2012
Honda XLV1000 Varadero 2007 - 2009
Suzuki DL650 V-Strom 2005 - 2008
Kawasaki GPZ 500s 2004 - 2005
Yamaha SR125 2003 - 2004

how many german hot rods out on the street ?

less than 250 Monaro

less than 150 Avantime

Both are in their own way a little bit special and a very rare treat

My friend has a Porsche Boxster.. She loves it but if it's left standing for a few weeks the battery goes flat. Her partner who is also a biker has fitted an external socket under the front bumper so they can connect it to a optimate without having to get to the battery..

The Scooby's are ten a penny but still have a certain desirability factor to them. Oh & they're pretty fast.

Boomer

If ya want a mid-life crisis car, the Skooby is the Daddy. Fast, furious, superb handling and you can get a pretty decent mk1 for 4k.
