recently been sent a kawasaki customer survey on my versys 1000 on how.. if any! can it be improved so they can make any future relevant changes based on "us riders" well, can't say anything bad about the versys 1000  brakes, suspension, engine, power, frame, display information, tank range, and comfort are excellent for the type of bike it is  in my opinion.. the only way they can improve the versys 1000 is to "iron out" the vibration when powering off from high revs. other than that, it's a brilliant machine  and for my trouble.. I get a Kawasaki carbon watch

but I hear you say.. this is a GTR1400 forum and don't really give a  :shit: about the versys  and I can compute with that

but... at the end of the survey, it asked how models could be improved for the future. so I suggested  to make the brilliant GTR1400 full tourer even better than it is now  and for 2014 fit the zzr1441 engine "detuned"  but only slightly  fit another glove box on the right side, fit a factory cruise control, elec folding mirrors for easier filtering and replaceable batteries for the tyre sensors so they can be change every other tyre change for a few quid instead of £300 bill from the stealers :hammer: and a top box as standard, and for short arses :whistling: adjustable seat height  then I may consider another GTR for my next replacement

I also pointed out a very true fact  the Kawasaki boffins would have a impossible task on their hands if they tried to improve the present zzr1441
getting on now...  but not as old as Rog or Geoff

SirToU

Some nice upgrades there!

When can I order it?

Yep, the big Versys is a great all rounder, which is somewhat under-rated, it is however built t'o a budget', and as such could do with a few improvements to bring it into line with its immediate competition.

The main thing prohibiting me from purchasing another GTR is its sheer weight, but it is designed as a sports/hyper tourer and as such it does the job supremely well, but we don't 'tour' anymore, and as my biking is predominantly of the 'B' road variety the V1K is a better option these days

I tried the KTM 1190 Adventure today.

First bike I've ridden, that in my opinion could be a replacement for the GTR...... but its not that simple.....

Neil, go on, why is it not that simple? I must admit I also like that model, the only thing which puts me off is the chain drive after having shaft drives for the last few bikes I've owned. But the service intervals for the KTM are a big plus.

SirToU

Yes the 9k intervals are nice.

Price is 1 issue... To get the bike I want is 16300......  (R + bits)

How much am I going to go through rear tyres?  TC light was on all the time...   Need road tyres..

And yes, really needs to be a shaft drive...  :-)

Electronic suspension I think is a gimmick.....  Hence why I would go for the R.

But there realitively minor points on what is a great bike.  But getting on the GTR, revealed just how smooth and powerful the GTR really is.

I would have thought that the KTM was abit like sitting on a razor blade after the comfy GTR  :mfr_lol:

Did you try it out in Kendal ?

The three wheeler is actually a BMW Isetta, same as the the 1600 GT but with an extra wheel  :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:

And I've always worried about German blokes in short leather pants, half socks and arse slapping
