Hehe.... If you read my question it was concerning the rear mudguard extender  , not the hugger .. the one behind the number plate     :stupid:

bryn.. if you want to extend the rear mudgaurd, I think you will need to knock one up yourself  don't know where you could buy one which is mass produced especially for the gtr1400. I recall some guy making one out of a used mudgaurd and screwing it on the original mudgaurd, but unless I could get rear fenda extenda that was designed to fit perfectly, I don't think it would be worth the hassle  besides, I'm only interested in keeping the rear shock and rectifier clean and free from  :shit: the rest of the bike can be cleaned quickly and easily enough when needed

Bryn,
Got mine from Canada, the same place as Debs. E-mail address of guy to contact is [email protected] . He makes them to order but even then it did not take long to deliver after order placed. Pictures below for your info.

Better to be old and grey than the alternative!

Mr Gonome..  I'm not to keen on the look of that rear fenda extenda, but that is only my personal opinion. I understand why you've fitted it  but I would rather keep the orignal look of the rear of the bike and wash all the  :shit: off when required. like I've already said, the rear hugger helps to keep the arkward to clean shock and rectifier free of  :shit:

See your point about the lines being 'compromised'

Not sure whether to get one yet or not.... decisions decisions

bryn.. if you could get a rear fenda extenda made from the same shade colour, and it is chamfered at the point where it can slot behind the original mud gaurd to enable the 2 joins to fit flush then held in place by double sided tape.. then let me know   will have one myself  I think Gonome's is about the best have seen and it will certainly help keep the  :shit: of the rear of the bike. but I don't think it dose the gtr rear end any justice

Might be a bit of big ask.....  I think if it's not Gonome's I'd probably stick with how it is without.... the main reason for a mudguard extender is to stop the crap flying over SWMBO when we're out in the rain....  Not sure how bad (or good ) the GTR is on that respect yet.... the panniers will certainly stop most of the crap flying off the back wheel, and along with the hugger already fitted I don't think its going to be that bad

I thought your reason for the rear fenda extenda  was to stop all the  :shit: flying over your panniers.. now you've explained it was to keep your significant other half free from all the  :shit: then you must decide what "rear end" you want to keep looking   so now, it's a defo no brainer :mfr_lol:

Do huggers offer much benefit?
In my humble opinion    NO   they just re- distribute the shite.

Ho..! dear.. such negativity  :nono:  As long as the hugger distributes the :shit: away from the shock and rectifier, then I'm happier than a pig in :shit: :mfr_lol:
