It was a lovely place for the meet. Whoever suggested it deserves a medal.

that meet looked really good.  just wish I had my GTR and was a member of the site then as I would have gone

Rusty

That wouldn't have been a problem TS ... the general feeling, I believe, is that if you are on the Forum and contribute and want to come along then come along. I think you have worked out this is a good place to be and a friendly bunch of blokes, so with that in mind, wherever we go next year we'll see you there !  :mfr_lol:

Would you even let me come?  On the Ultimate Touring Machine?  With all the toys?  In the best colour?
Four is fun.  Six is sex.

You'll be coming on a black GTR fully customised? Of course.

My better half refers to BMW drivers as Bloody Minded W*nkers.
Of course she is referring to the car drivers (normally self obsessed sales types).

I've not ridden the K16GT but I very much doubt if it would tempt me off the GTR.
I got the GTR as I wanted a sportsbike but don't fit on them, not even on the ZZR1400.
I only tour occasionally so for me it's a SPORTS-tourer.

As for the Ultimate Touring Machine,.... that's my 1989, 170,000 mile GTR1000 that is, so until you've ridden 1000 miles in a day or done 600 miles two-up in 10 hours, then it's just the Ultimate Posing Machine.  :hammer: :hammer:  :tt2:

Totally agree with you George - the GTR is more sports oriented and when we tested last year that was exactly the conclusion arrived at.  Not as good as a pillion perch, more for the sports end of touring and exceptional at that.

The GTR is a brilliant machine and ticks all the boxes.  long live the big K!

As for your last comment - I did 760 miles none stop (except for fuel / Chunnel) last week from Thonon Les Bains to Hull so I do believe I/it have/has the relevant credentials.............

Winny ... you HAVE to come next year just so I can oggle your machine of great beauty  :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:

Kevin

Looks like you all had a great time. Sorry we were elsewhere (well, if I'm honest I'm not but I'm sorry the dates clashed).

I have also eaten lots of pies, so dont fit on sports bikes. But I still have a devilish side to me, and like to go out and have some fun, Over the years I have test rode lots of touring bikes, (not the K16) and they always leave me feeling "Wheres the fun in that". . So when I last changed bikes the GTR just did, and had all the things that I needed, sporty ish engine, lots of weather protection, heated grips, and It's a physically large bike, but very comfy. I'm not sure that I will ever own a pure touring bike, as when I have worn the GTR out I will more than likely to old to ride anything other than some mid sized engined bike, or a big scooter type thing.
What would you rather be   or a wasp?
