Hi all,
I need some advice please. That night last week when it tipped it down I rode back the 40 miles from work, put her in the garage and went to sleep. Next day went to go to work and no sign of life at all. I thought, oh well I left something on and drained the battery. Got the jump leads out and for a couple of seconds the red kipass light flashed, then a whirring noise from the rear under seat area and all dead again.
Tried a different battery to jump, car this time and still nowt.
Does this ring a bell with anyone? I'm suspecting relay? I would rather not get my Kwak garage involved until I have to...
Thanks in advance for any suggestions..

It's not something that has happened to me on the GTR but something very similar happened on one of my other bikes (Suzuki GSX1400) last month.

The battery is frequently topped up with a trickle charger and it hadn't been long since I had done a good run. I took the battery out put it on the car charger which to told me it was already fully charged. I stuck it back into the bike and it fired up straight away and has not been a problem since.

The only conclusion I could draw was that there had been a slightly loose connection to the negative lead. It may not be the answer for you, but I would start with the easy job first - redo the battery connections and stick a bit of WD40 round to check there is no damp...

Common issue with a loose battery earth lead where it bolts to the frame.
I added a copper crush washer to mine and put copper grease on the thread to stop it from vibrating loose.

Yes, similar situations are quite well documented on here....battery leads and related connections really do need to be secure

Good luck and keep us posted
