I have had my ecu reflashed  with the Mountain Runner map by Michael Cox and it has made it as enjoyable and smooth as my ZZR1100 was.
I mostly ride quite quickly on twisty country roads round County Durham, Cumbria and Northumberland which usually involve steep hills and now I hardly ever have to change gear. The bike pulls so much better even below 2k and gets much better mpg than the previous non eco mode that it hardly seems worth using eco mode unless you are on a motorway.
Curiously when you are in eco mode and open the throttle beyond 30% and it drops into ordinary mode to give you more power, it does not give you as much power as it does if you manually change out of eco mode. As if eco mode still retains the old map rather than using the new mountain runner map.
The throttle is so much smoother when going on-off-on and at small openings that slow manoeuvring is much nicer.
I used to get 60mpg in eco mode now I get 57mpg not in eco mode and enjoy the ride much more. Eco mode is still there if I want it.
I removed the ecu from my bike (4 screws) and posted it to Michael Cox in Germany and less than a week later I refitted it and went for a ride.
Incredibly quick service.
I really can't recommend this highly enough.
I can't imagine why anyone would spend £5k+ on one of these bikes and not spend the extra €350 + p&p to transform their bike into what it should have been in the first place.

Coincidentally, my strange FI error (with no recorded error codes) that I have had every hot start since I bought the bike last summer seems to have disappeared.
Possibly just a poor connection cleared by unplugging and replugging the ecu connectors or possibly the reflash but either way I'm glad it's gone.

O.C.

sounds like a great result...money well spent

Glad that has all worked out well ... and a small price to make such a difference

Yes, we'll worth it.
Next step is to wear out the rear roadsmart and fit a 190/55 for an extra 10mm rear ride height and all that brings.
