How are you getting on with the new bike?

Hi PRD.
Brilliant at the moment can't fault it 👍.
Back to battlax BT 023 tyres for a while they aren't very old .
Not put any bits on yet will wait till the warranty is up  only the charger lead 👍.

Yep they are rather good these bikes. Every time I think of changing mine I look at it and say no.

There have been some developments.

The original hotel, Mutha Ben Doran at Tyndrum is still closed and they cannot confirm when they will be re-opening.

However, Tyndrum Lodges which is about 400 yards from the above hotel is open from the 15th July.

Therefore if anyone fancies attending this meet up before the next lock down, book your room. I have paid £374 for four nights including breakfast which is cheaper than the hotel would have been. The first post on page 1 has been updated but basically the dates are now 16th July to the 20th July, Thursday to Monday as before.

OK, I'm now up for this...

Does it need to achieve "critical mass" in terms of members committing or does it still happen even if it is just me any you

Ideally it would be good if at least half a dozen committed but I understand that for some there are more important personal matters to deal with than a jolly to Scotland with a bunch of bikers.

From my point of view I've booked, I could do with the break as this year has been difficult even without Covid 19. However I will be doing some work while up there and probably not too much riding.

I've also booked on the basis that even if it does not happen as a "meet" I'll enjoy a few days on my own on the bike; I've always promised myself some time on the bike in Scotland and that weekend is as good as any.

If others buy into it that would be good but if not I'm happy to entertain myself.

Did original book when trip was arranged then it was cancelled due to this bloody virus  was hoping to go on the revised dates but my circumstances have not change  so will be missing out again :hammer: this is the 4th time I've needed to cancel my holiday plans either it be the 2 week family abroad holiday then my 10 day Europe bike trip and a 4 night caravan break and the gtr 1400 jolly boys bike trip.   roll on next year will be making up for  hopefully!

Well we're heading South tomorrow after four great days up in Scotland. We've had a mixed bag of weather but although it has rained, when it has rained it has been brief and mostly just showers, sometimes it was even warm which isn't the norm in Scotland.

I'm sure they'll be a write up possibly from both of us, photos and video too.

You can't beat yourself up for not being able to make it. This year has been unpredictable and difficult to make plans for virtually anything.

Scotland will still be here next year and I'm sure your new steed would love to stretch its legs then and pay the country a visit when the time is right.

Well by my reckoning it takes a minimum of two for a "meet" and we just about scraped through!

I've had a brilliant few days north of the border and will be sorting through the photos and video over the next week or so, but in the meantime this is the picture that captures it all for me:
