Hi guys,

I didn't find anything on the forum.
Few weeks ago I saw that the battery (3V) from FOB does not last even for a 2 weeks. I have tried all battery brands but all go dead in 10 days maximum. I don't have some moisture or water, I cleaned inside with a spray for electronic parts and isopropyl alcohool, everithing looks clean there and nothing.  I also use CR2032 and CR2025 with no big difference, only 2-3 days.

Any ideea? Do I need to buy a new FOB?

It all depends on use but I get a year + out mine I just change it yearly I never wait for the fob low warning.
It sounds like the fob has a problem.
Also in case you aren't aware if you take the key out of the fob and place the hole on the square at the bottom of the bars it should start the bike 👍

For what its worth it may be a FOB problem ... I don,t know the technical bits ( I don,t know anything technical ! )  but when your dealer is back open get down there and tell them about it ... I got through 3 batteries on my GS FOB ... the display telling me I had a 50% battery loss ... and it turned out to be a "reading" problem ... no trouble they replaced it... which was very BMW

Yep, fob problem.... they are expensive to replace and have to be paired to your bike... don't ask me how I know

Last week I got the fob battery low problem so put a new battery in it when I got home. That was only my second run out this year. I remember thinking I'd only put a new battery in it at the end of last year. First run out after that was today and within half an hour I had the fob battery low show up again. I'd bought 2 new batteries during the week to have as spares but made sure I got lithium batteries this time rather than alkaline. 180 miles, no problems.
I use a camera for work and have found that alkaline batteries literally last a few days whereas lithium last months.

Don't be so tight. Buy a quality battery.

And don't store the fob on or near the bike when at home. (eg. in the condom cupboard on the tank). If you do the bike will constantly be reading the fob.

Correct, I did Steve, and spent a good hour or so searching the grass verge for it... to no avail.... and a hefty replacement cost

It was a very bright sunny day and I didn't notice the warning message on the screen till OI got home

Despite even Kawasaki's own manual stating it to be fact, the bike does NOT look for the fob until you press the key.
Logically, if it were already looking there would be no need to press the key. And the bike battery would go flat.

I stand corrected. ]

Funnily enough, despite the dealer saying he had replaced the fob battery the day before, my bike turned up asking for a new fob battery....

I'll try a lithium battery as mentioned and see how that does.

So does my German thing, the newer ones are keyless and even have reverse gear but I'm happy with a key, simple but effective. ( The key, not me).  :whistling:

Thanks to all of you, even the guys with regular key on the bike
I keep the FOB in a bag with Keys and another remote from a Mercedes and BMW. (maybe Kawa doesn't like BMW and Mercedes, I will try with Skoda and Opel )
But in the same bag I have also the second small key from bike, maybe this is the reason?
I changed the batery with the new one and separate the FOB from the rest.
Thanks!

Hi all,

Unfortunately it is the same situation even with a new brand battery - a good one, Renata.
In the future I must to buy a new FOB, around 330 euro.

Thanks to all for your advice!
