Getting back to Mr Cummings without wanting to start at argument. Reading his full statement, he doesn't come across as lying. I don't see much reason from what he said to sack him.

See. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/11705524/dominic-cummings-thought-right-detailed-statement-defending/

O.C.

I don't consider myself gullible nor am I cynical, but we watched his account live on T.V yesterday as did millions of others I suspect and I saw a man trying to be honest and open about events.... if I've got that wrong then maybe he would be better suited to a life on stage as an actor

I did laugh this morning as former 'special advisers' to both Theresa May and Tony B-liar were interviewed on breakfast T.V presumably as some sort of 'comparative'  ....just think about it

'The leaders of the opposition parties are meeting today to decide their next steps in the Dominic Cummings affair'

Country facing the biggest threat to health and wealth for 75 years. It's good to see where their priorities lie.

Meanwhile in Ireland, head of Govt Leo Varadker picnics with his boyfriend and others in park. After expressly saying go to the park for exercise but don't have a picnic.

Couldn't give a rats shit about Dominic Cummings having travelled to Durham. If there is going to be an enquiry as to whether he did right or wrong we need to enquire as to what each and every MP has been doing, especially the opposition. Also whilst I'm having my two penneth, what about the Paps outside Cummings house? As a site engineer I can categorically confirm that they were not complying with the social distancing rule of 2mtrs - didn't see that reported in the National ass wipes.  :censored: :censored:

I still can't get my head around why anyone would voluntarily travel to Durham.

On the plus side Durham is getting a lot of extra  publicity. What I don't understand is why in a half hour journey little boy needed a toilet break but in the long run north he didn't. But if he did, where did he stop for it and who was infected then. I could not travel from London to Durham  without a toilet break. Also as I understand it it is illegal to drive a car just to make sure your eyesight is good enough to undertake a journey. Any doubts you should not be driving.

Yes I have to admit going for a drive to see if you can see is a strange thought pattern to process. You can either see or you can't.

All he had to do was say that he was panicking about his child and drove to Durham which was a mistake and apologise.  But he is too arrogant for that and now is in a spot of bother.

I have read the statement in full, as well as watching the presentation.

Perhaps the child was asleep during the journey and didn't need a pee, (maybe he doesn't bed wet,) so this would be a possibility

I think Cummings states that the half hour drive to Barnard Castle was in order to establish that he was safe to drive, after which he considered he was, he does have an important role to perform after all (like him or not) and therefore needed to return to the Capital.

This is IMHO being blown out of all proportion by the media, which is after all what they thrive on and depend upon, and some sections of the public enjoy feeding off.

Like others I couldn't give a shit about the journey to Durham, in the wider scheme of things it really isn't that vital, I'm more concerned with the re-opening of retail outlets and making safe the return to work of workers and the return to school for school children who, up to know, have enjoyed what some called an 'extended holiday'.

Deaths from covid in NI in last 24hrs - zero.

Deaths from motorcycle accidents in last 48 hrs - sadly one.

Children bring kept off school until September - unjustifiable.

Trying to prevent second wave. Feeble excuse.

IMHO

O.C.

And the media ramping up negativity at every possible opportunity is doing no good for the spirit of the country, at a time like this we need the reporting of some good news, there must be some out there somewhere

I'm totally sick of the whole media scenario......... anyway who writes the scripts for these supposed 'expert' correspondents ? or is it just their own opinions ? which I can largely see through and definitely don't share

According to various polls, 71% of the population think that Dominic should go. If he really cares about our country he will go and theN whoever is in power can crack on.

Every morning when I awake in Lonewolf Towers I check my iPad to be confronted with News headings such as.....5 things we didn't know about Covid 19, it is becoming very tedious.  :ohplease:

It's similar to the Thursday night round of applause. It's becoming tedious and people are complaining lol 😆 no pleasing some folk and it's turning into a Tory witch-hunt.
Nothing mentioned about a certain labour mp visiting his parents and dad on his birthday 🤔 rant over 👍
