Annual GTR Meet up May 2020.

We don't know for sure when lockdown is to be exstended to yes  but I think it will run up till end of May. But I hope I'm wrong and it is less.

A 3 week extension takes us to May 08th .... unless I wake up on the day of my departure and we are still in lockdown I shall be heading north....

As this meet was a 350 trip for me 👍 .
I planned to stay in the Lake District on my way up for the night in a B&B.
Alas they have just messaged me to inform as due to the covid-19 and government guidelines they will be closing for the foreseeable future. It's not looking good for the Scotland meet

Rusty has booked into a Premiere Inn just outside Keighley. Give them a call and see if you can get in there. I'm meeting Rusty there Thursday morning and then we can all ride up together provided you don't mind slumming it with a couple of BMW riders.

You are right GLA55Y ... what an escape that would be ... just delightful !

I had an E mail from Premier Inn in early March when this all kicked off ... simply stating they were offering free cancelations and or re books if you were staying with them between 19th March and 31st May .... all very understanding of the situation, which of course they have to be.

It is a waiting game for us all ... just fingers crossed there will be a relaxation of the lockdown by then .... if the Brewers Fayre next door to the PI is closed I can get some grub from a near by garage ... or wait outside Steves front door ... 2 metres away obviously, and wait for him to chuck his left overs out !

An update on our hotel availability.




The below email implies the hotel will be re-opening in May (at some point) however I will check in with them again in a week or so. However please note the hotels cancellation process has been amended in our favour so if you are sitting on the fence re cancelling you now know at least that you can literally leave it until almost the last minute to make your decision.
