Well who would have thought before Christmas we would all be in the position we are now.. just wondering how many of us had booked or even planned a bike trip or holiday this year, I was planning a Europe bike trip around late July early August I would rather do a bike trip in June as weather is not so hot, the reason I was leaving it late this year to book the bike trip was.. I already had a week planned early June with family in Cumbria and a 2 week holiday planned late June in Spain for myself and good wife So from 3 holidays to none is a blow to say the least. as we are all on shut down now holidays in the UK is a no.. no.. and Spain is one of the worst to be hit by this virus so it's obvious we won't be going to Spain. my normal bike trip in Europe is a 10 day tour of France/Belgium/Germany/Austria and Italy which also now is not going to happen. I've no doubt that everyone plans this year as gone to pot and I understand if no one would rather not talk about holidays you had planned in the coming months. So let's all pull together and beat this bloody virus .. roll on next year I will certainly be making up for the holidays I've lost this year..
getting on now...  but not as old as Rog or Geoff

i had trips for may to do the b500 in may then to do the Pyrenees in june ,week in Scotland with family in july all seems to have gone , i usually go in june thinking it wont be to hot last june was 42 degrees and the year before was 38 so that does not always work ,trouble is as you get older losing a year is not so good ,still all stay safe ,

Trip to Italy in early April not on bike but cancelled. Two week trip with Charlie 747 to picos  mid June which I suspect will be cancelled. Have a trip to Scotland and Yorkshire late August. Will have to wait and see on that one.

Scotland trip at the end of May, everything will be fine. Looking forward to going to Oban on the ferry and exploring the island amongst other places. Chilling out in the hotel bar with everyone else, maybe a game or two of pool, who knows.

Or come May I could be at home washing and polishing my bike for the 187th time trying to remember what it's like to ride a bike  :mfr_lol:

O.C.

Many people have had to postpone or worse still cancel holidays etc.,

We have had to cancel our holiday in early May, plus the Road Racing calendar over here has been badly hit

Who knows what the short to mid term future holds in store only time will tell

Long weekend in Somerset planned for Mid May - cancelled
Long weekend in Mid Wales planned for early May - about to be cancelled
14 day family holdiday in Southern France in Mid- June - still in the air, but I reckon will be postponed
Bike trip to Brittany in mid July with 4 others. Ferry tickets all paid for.  Looks like its a no-no with no ferry refunds, just a voucher for next year
Classic TT.  Booked and paid for - Who knows?
End Sept long weekend to Moffat with Club-Kawasaki.  Probably the only one that just might happen
I'm about £1500 down so far!

Had the new ZZR for over 2 months, now and done just 500 miles.  Really frustrating

No what you mean about not riding your new zzr1400.. I certainly know what that is like. got a new 2020 Reg Kawasaki SX SE model caught a  nasty bug and felt really ruff so never bothered riding the bike till felt a bit better..and now on lockdown been advise to self isolate until further notice. it was booked in for the 600 mile first service but now been cancelled so instead I'm just popping in to the garaged now and then to drool over it..

My annual holiday entitlement runs from July to the end of June in the following year. As the mother-in-law was terminally ill last year and we could not plan anything so I missed out on a European trip and had saved up a lot of holiday days for the first half of 2020.

Fortunately I did manage to get a week in the Bavarian Alps last month before the shutters came down, but it looks like Easter week is a write off and the two weeks set aside at the end of May to have a good look at France are probably extremely doubtful. I'll try and shift those two weeks to the back end of June, just before I lose them, and hope that the extra month allows time for things to normalise a bit – I'd settle for a couple of weeks around England and Scotland.

Beyond that maybe I can get the run to France re-planned for late August but other than route planning and provisionally picking accommodation I can't see that I would be able to press the button on anything for another 4-6 weeks.

The important thing is that we all live to take those holidays, so for the time being we are going to have to bear it and deal with all those little projects around the home. All four bikes were started up on Friday and pulled out of the garage so that I could have a good clear out (although I have no idea what to do with the rubbish I have gathered as the local tip is closed). Next week they may come out one at a time for a clean and polish.

Stay safe.

Pete.

Sadly there are a few planned trips this year, mainly on the bike but a couple of family outings that are simply not going to take place. As Dave said at the start "who would have thought?"

I suppose that the only silver lining is that I can put off buying a new and very much needed set of panniers until next year !!

Chins up everyone ... when this is all over we will enjoy our trusted steeds even more, regardless of their badge and we can all go out and enjoy the warmth and the .... Oh no wait ... it,ll be winter by then !

In which case there is no need to put your clock forward on the bikes.

We had a week in Jersey planned for the last week of April. Currently trying to reschedule that for Sept if we can.
Otherwise, when all this kicked off I was about to pull the pin on booking the GCE Tour de Twist in Germany for May, but that got cancelled.
I think holidays (if any) this year will be spent at home (OH JOY!  :mfr_lol:).
Hey, many out there are losing their jobs, businesses, loved ones, and their lives.
A holiday is small bananas against all that.
