Hi everyone - got tired of waiting for the new FJR and traded my trusty AS version for a new shiny GTR. First impressions are positive although the starting up stuff needs getting used to (transponder, key etc).
I do have an immediate need of advice however. Perhaps I should post in another section but ... how do I lift the seat ???     Inserted the key ,turned anti clockwise, pressed own on the rear section of seat which clicks and lifts a bit - but no further !!   Seems stuck at the front .
Is there something else to do ? Reluctant to pull the front up with any force.
Help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi wiltsguy

To remove the seat, once the rear is free off the latch, just pull/wriggle backwards, away from the front of the bike.

Don't pull the front up as there's two metal prongs that push into the seat.

Hi and welcome

I am glad to see there is somebody else from Wiltshire  :) , I am in sunny Swindon  ::)
I have had mine, Magnesium Grey, for 13 months and covered over 13,000 miles and enjoyed every one of them  :D

On the seat, one thing you have to watch is when you are putting it back - make sure both the metal lugs at the front are engaged properly, I found that mine where a very tight fit and didn't always fit first time round.

Kind regards

Steven

Welcome from yet another Wiltshire owner - though I am almost a Gloucestershire owner as I am close to the border. Brown one (still cannot call it Magnesium Grey  ;) ) like Steven, on the M4 betwixt J17 and J13 most mornings and evenings.

I have started seeing another GTR (blue one I think) travelling between Swindon and Malmesbury. Not you is it?

65,000 miles now. Loving this bike.

Thanks guys - followed your advice and off it came :D

And then wondered why ??  No room under there, can't even get my scrunched up HiViz in - let alone the handbook.
No worries , sure to get used to it soon.
Thanks again.

It is a bit cramped under the seat but there's room for an Autocom and radio if thats your style.

Yes welcome Wiltsguy. I am sure that if you can live with being very comfy, with an engine beneath you that will go as quick as you are ever likely to want to go, put up with  fantastic brakes, endure the feeling of a really well thought out bike, thats well built and full of modern features such as ABS, traction control, a slipper clutch, tyre pressure sensors, electric screen, shaft drive etc etc, then there is half a chance that you may just really enjoy this bike.          ;D    cheers Geoff  ;D
What would you rather be   or a wasp?

Thanks again for the welcome folks.
Mine is green as well '100milesaway' - did more miles today and getting more impressed with each one.

(note to self , must look out for other nearby GTR's)
