I've recently moved to Ireland for work and brought my GTR across a couple of weekends ago. My first foray involved 24 hours riding between 4pm Friday and 8pm Sunday, and some 730 miles covered.

The South has some great views, some good roads, and some stinkers... Subsidence seems to be the biggest problem with very large dips and tranverse land slips giving tracking issues once you are off the major highways.

The ferry across from Holyhead is a good crossing and reasonably priced too.

I had previously always gone to Europe. It now looks like there's plenty to explore around Ireland too !

Contrary to my understanding, it doesn't always rain either..

Pleased to hear it's ok there.  I'm going at the end of July for a week or so.  Rosslare to Donegal and back but the slow and scenic roads

Glad you had a good trip and I hope you can get the pictures sorted I'd like to see what it's all about.

I've given hought to Ireland on a number of occasions but it has always looked that a ferry to Europe is cheaper and the accommodation prices have always looked a bit heavy - did you manage to find some good value?

Burchy if you heading to donegal via  cork and wild alantic way ,when you get off in rosslare dont go via waterford head to new ross then onto clonmel and go by the vee back down into dungarven ,when searching for the vee make sure it says in google maps the vee tipperary ,from  dungarven onto cork if you looking for a place to stay depending on how long you intend to ride, after cork look for kinsale or a bit further on schull its about 300 to 370 kms .
