Hi Folks

I apologise in advance as I'm sure this has been posted before....

I have a standard GTR 1400 seat and I find it quite uncomfortable after about 100 miles so the reports I have seen suggesting the gel seat is harder is a little disappointing.

My main reason for looking at getting one is to lower the bike slightly, the extra inch lowered I think would make a big difference to my feet position relative to the floor, currently one foot flat and once foot on the ball of my foot.

However 400 quid for a new one is a hefty price to pay for a seat that isnt that much lower and more uncomfortable and is not something I would like to do without some good feedback on the Gel seat and its effects on the bike.

Anyone got one and not like it and have it for sale at reasonable cost local to me North Notts area.

I was in your postion ,bought a kaw lowered gel seat ,wife did not like it and i think there too hard ,i have just had my standard seat lowered by 1 inch and reshaped also memory foam fitted ,guy who did the work told me m foam is better than gel ,cost was 100 pounds re used my cover 100 percent perfect job,not done a good ride out on it yet so can,t say as to comfort yet

A lot of us purchased a Sellerie seat and were happy, my current Ducati has a modified seat as I purchased a stock version plus some memory foam from the bay of fleas and made my own, then got a local upholsterers to cover it, sorted.
Ducati owner now but I used to have a Black one, the fastest version.

if you don't find a replacement seat you could consider having your standard seat modified...

Thanks for the comments guys, was hoping for a few more from people that have fitted the Kwak gel seat, but maybe not many have?

I fitted the gel seat .i liked the reduced height I was flat footed. But on an long ride 150+ miles my rear was killing me  so I splashed out on a Corbin a bit pricey + import duty  :censored:
But I love it each to there own I suppose we are all different so are our backsides  :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:
