Just another one of those great days where you ride the Gtr into the garage at home with a big grin on yer face  ;D
At half 2 in Central London it was, after a warm day, clouding over and starting to spit .... just as I rode out of the base ... then within a couple of minutes going down The Mall Buckingham Palace disappeared from view because the rain was SO heavy ...." wer heyyyy " I thought ... screen up, Rukka gear on and recently purchased PR 3's ( nicely scrubbed in with about 1000 miles on ) would make for an interesting ride home of about an hour and a half .... the rain kept coming I was dry and the tyres were fine .... just had to look out for the Yummy Mummies in Chelsea with their Porche Cayannes and Range Rovers pulling across the road to collect their little darlings from the Mc Donalds opposite .... sorry, I digress ..... the bike was just great at filtering and no problems .... rain eases as I get to the A3 and as I turn off towards Chessington the other side of the roundabout is bone dry .... blue sky and sunshine replaced rain and wet weather in a matter of metres !!!
Box Hill and the A24 await as my jacket dries off in the " warmer " weather ( bone dry underneath of course ) .... a little bit twisty and the roads begin to open up ... a mix of single carriageways and dual carriageways with fairly light traffic and now no clouds in site  ;D
On the opposite side of the road there was a broken down / crashed car just about to be recovered with 2 Traffic Cars in attendance .... which gave me a fairly clean sweep for the way home .... lots of 3rd gear for the bendy bits then 4th and 5th for the longer " let's make progress " parts .....
Home in no time, all dry and the bike ticking !
What a great ride home ... thoroughly enjoyable ... ;D

Its nice when those types of runs just come together and everything gels. Are you now satisfied that the PR3's are up to the job?

Rusty

Very much so old fruit .... everyone has written about them and there is simply no more to add  ;D

Lonewolf

So you wont want to hear about the PR4's then?

Went to the Cumbria bike show today and was speaking with a Michelin chap on their stand. They were promoting the PR3's apparently MCN have voted them tyre of the year. Asked him if there was a PR4 in the pipeline and there is, it's due out 2013 which isn't that far away. No specifics yet on how it's going to improve on the PR3 but nevertheless something to look forward to. It'll be interesting to see what improvements are possible!!

Steve,  What mileage have you had out of them up to now?  How much meat left on them?
Four is fun.  Six is sex.

I've had probably just less than 3000 out of them. Not a lot in reality I know but the tyres still look brand new.

Rusty

Well they would do at the speed you go  ;D

Don't you bloody start, I get enough grief from another certain individual on here about my sluggish pace.  ;)
