For over five and half years mine have worked perfectly with one battery change, and when in Belgium warned me of the rear losing pressure giving me time to get to a garage and sort it.

Worth there weight in gold I reckon.
Ducati owner now but I used to have a Black one, the fastest version.
Previous, Sprint ST (2), VFR 800, Fireblade's (4) SP1, VTR1000, GPZ900, CB250, BSA Bantam D14/4, Suzuki TS100, SX200.

My first thoughts are they are great, then when looking at the cost of replacement I think what an unnecessary expensive piece of junk.
Mine is a 2009 model which I have owned since December 2010 and is still on the original batteries but the front is now showing need of replacement when cold. After a few miles it warms up and the display is fine.

Then I think how expensive parachute silk is.

We're lucky, Chris. Our sensors/senders can be opened and the battery changed. I *believe* that isn't the case for the Gen2 GTR - I think they are sealed (I could be wrong and often am - just ask my wife :hammer: )

I'd planned to fit new batteries at my last tyre change. I went prepared: soldering iron, solder, new batteries... The one thing I forgot? My glasses. I only need them for reading or close-up stuff. Trying to solder at arms length was beyond a joke, so it's on my to-do list for the next tyre change.

In the meantime I have exactly the same symptoms as you. Even so, I keep a digital pressure gauge in the 'glove box' and always check the pressures before I set off - I know they'll read on the main display after a few miles. Eventually.

Cheers
