Hi

Tried 8 on both sides and it's defenetly not the best setting. I would assume that the people walking on the street will be crazy about my lights..

Might be worth adopting MAx's approach of rotating slowly whilst observing the pattern against a flat wall.

.

His is a US bike , no idea if the reflector is different to yours but its definitely different to my UK Bike, and 8 works just fine for me

Yes I think I am going to do that but that's a 2 man operation...

Because I am not sure alone how the pattern is supposed to be on a wall..

The ZG forum is down at the moment so I can't check if he managed to do it by himselft or if he needed help

Cheers

Did it himself although it was a bit of a fafff.

Disconnected the power leads to both sides
Unscrewed the heatsink from one side
Removed bulb from that side
Slackened off the retaining screw so it was just able to move
Think he refitted the heatink befor e reconencting that bulb
Pointed at wall
Slowly rotated the inner section until the pattern was right
Looked down the front to check the number
Removed & retightened the securing screw and fully refit.

Rinse & repeat the other side

Easy to see the numbers

Thanks for the copy paste!!

Just one question : how do you know that the pattern is right on the wall?

Thanks

Put the standard halogens back in first and make a note of the pattern?

Possibly add masking/gaffer tape on the wall?

Here it is
I have put the settings back at 1 and it seems to be the perfect spot
See below comparison with my full LED car

Nice right?

I'll do that tomorrow during my next ride

I went out yesterday and the beam seems nice on the road!!

It certainly appears that the GTRs headlight handles HIDs better than some other bikes reflectors do but personally I've never been happy with a HID in a reflector type housing.

HID in an older style headlight with fluted glass that acts as a Lens, yes I've had good results
HID in a new reflector type housing, always had scatter
HID in a proper retrofit projector, the Best way IMHO of fitting HIDs

WHat I really like about these particular LEDs is that they put the light source in (almost as far as I can tell) exactly the same place it would be with a standard halogen bulb so therefore less risk of scatter

NB one of the "problems" of HID over extended periods in a reflector which wasn't designed for them is that they can burn out the silver

As with everything though YMMV :)
