after reading the post on radiator covers! have now decided not to tempt faith, and fit one on my 2010 gtr1400 model, allready got a fenda extender. so which rad cover is the best and the easiest to fit, with out needing to remove anythink, dont mind if its black or stainless colour. providing it dose the job and not a sod to fit!

I dont know which is best, I suppose they will all do what they were designed to do. I think mines just being a bit temperamental because its snagging on something at the back of the radiator, some foam cushioning, perhaps. I'll sort it eventually. I prefer the stainless steel ones, they just add a bit of contrast to the colour scheme of the bike especially on my Black Beauty.  ;D

Having said that if I cant sort it out I'll take a drive over to Beowulf at Halifax and pick up one of theirs.

just been pricing these rads covers up! thought may as well get one for my zzr1400 at ther same time! have noticed a few samll stone dings in that rad, allso have a fenda extender on that! but them little pesky stones have managed to get through. anyway R&g sell the stainless rad covers, they are both the same product code for the zzr1400 and the gtr1400, for both deliverd is £122.00! beowulf only do the black rad covers but have different product codes, gtr1400 is ko24ab the zzr1400 is ko16ab, but they do look the same. thinking they have gave them the same product code to make life easier for them. anyway both deliverd from beowulf is £99.80! just need to decide which is the best, theres £22.20 difference here! only difference being, the r&g are stainless colour, but there black covers are the same price. so which are the best out of these 2 brands, the r&g would need to be alot better for an other £22.00!

I think it hasto boil down to customer service as well as just price. I've bought things from Beowulf before and their service is second to none. Downside is they dont do the stainles steel finish which I prefer.

Here's my Projektd guard in black. Still not put it on bike.

I've attached the instructions as well so you can determine how easy it is to install

I think its Taiwan based. Here's the link: http://projektd.com/product_info.php?cPath=27_39_47&products_id=62

Don't forget to factor in customs and vat for when it arrives in the UK

EDIT: Just seen some reviews if that helps

NB, can you do me a big favour please? Can you measure the distance from the bottom fixing bracket along the shortest edge of the guard. On mine this measurement is 115mm or 4-1/2" in proper measurements right upto the extreme edge which is slightly bevelled.

That's stumped me then. I'll have another look at it when I get up at lunchtime, there has to be something simple I'm missing.

both rads covers arrived today, both fitted in under 20 mins. no problems went straite on! on the gtr1400 the bottom right hand corner was a bit slack! this may have caused vibration! so just used a small clip! the type you use with a self tapper screw! used it like a clamp. to hold that part of the cover to the edge of the radiator, no problems at all with the zzr1400 cover, straite on and a nice tight fit! will give both bikes a run at week end, cannot see theses rad covers causing running hot problems, theres more than enough holes to not impeade air flow. so fingers crossed hey!

I have come to the conclusion then that my s/s rad cover which is a Beowulf product but which suprisingly they do not sell anymore in s/s must be a bad one!

I'm going to take the GTR over to Beowulf hopefully on Thursday afternoon and buy one of their newer ones like you have just purchased and then that should be the end of that. I'll get them to fit it while I'm there which they said they would do. I never knew fitting a rad cover could be so complicated ::)

you defo have a dodgy one there, both mine went straite on, did not even need to remove the fenda extender, which I thought I would have. like I say the only problem was the bottom right corner, it was a bit slack. so used a clip and slid it over the cover and the radiator extreme edge, which in affect! is acting like a clamp. and keeping the cover pressed hard against the radiator, then painted the clip black for good mesures. so it would blend in with the rad cover. am perfectionist you know! ;D simple but affected! the zzr1400 cover went on with no problems! they look decent enough, but no way are they worth £45.00 each.
