Hi All,
I know seat replacement for a more comfortanble ride over sistance has been discussed before, I have now reached a point where I want to change to something more comfortable, and  I can't/ don't want to  afford the £4-500 price that seams to be needed for a replacement seat.  Anyone heard of Touratech seats conversions from Motea -http://www.motea.com/en/seats--accessories/seat-cushions-c4043.htm-  please? It seems that if I send it to them with about £150 they will rebuild my current, standard, seat into something more comfy. I would appreciate any input please. Seems a bit too good to be  true.Happy New Year everyone.

Not heard of them myself but asking around the web might help, google them and see what comes up.

Might be an idea to buy a second hand GTR seat and send that, if it comes back as you like then you can either sell yours or keep it and should you decide to sell the bike god forbid put the original back on and see the modified one.

I have a top sellerie, suits me fine.
Ducati owner now but I used to have a Black one, the fastest version.
Previous, Sprint ST (2), VFR 800, Fireblade's (4) SP1, VTR1000, GPZ900, CB250, BSA Bantam D14/4, Suzuki TS100, SX200.

:agree:    100%   I also have a Top Sellerie and its all day comfy for me

A ZZR1400 seat is the same as the GTR abd they are sometimes available on fleabay. ..could be worth a shout

You want a comphy arse and you don't want to spend a bundle
SOLUTION
AIRHAWK .. I have had one for about 12 years and have done at least 100k miles on it .
And it is the plastic one.
It raises the seat hight mebbees half an inch so if that's a problem undo the staples keeping the seat cover on.
Utilise her indoors electric carving knife or a stiff good quality bread knife and reshape your seat
Touratech wil  basically put a cheap gel pad in your seat and charge you a BOMB for the pleasure of a Touratec sticker .
Hope this helps
ps
Just typed ZZR 1400 SEAT into ebay and there's a one for 95 quid

Saw one for a Harley that had the air part built into the seat ,  that is what's needed the air hawk to be already built into the seat and blown up to the required comfort , ,  :biker3:

Thank you very much, I appreciate the replies. Guess I'll be having a look on fleabay then... on the other hand, the Airhawk sounds good...  Thanks again.

I could be interested in the seat prism, if Longton isn't.

Hi long tom
I've been in the same predicament recently, Tony Archer seats in Huddersfield has an excellent reputation for modifying seats
He quoted me 2 weeks ago £140 to lower it, fit proper gel pad and recover it with a non slip one
Wish I would have done it now as I bought the genuine Kawasaki lower seat and the jury is still out on that

I had a Corbin on my FJR and it was quite hard although you could put the miles in on it. I dont recollect it being affected by rain but I've been to bed since then.
