The GTR have been great but now it's time for a change. Wanted something different.

Fine choice , I have a ktm 1050 adventure ,plus a 990 superduke , and. I love them both , had a go on the 1290r  , but would have had to part with the gtr to able to get it ,and just could not do that , am sure you will like it ,

Hope I will enjoy the KTM as much as the GTR.
I know the chain drive is a step back. And the weather protection ar not as good.
But on my summer holiday trip in the north of Norway me an my traveling friend traded bikes for two days. I drove his Ducati Diavel in all kinds of weather. Fantastic fun bike, no weather protection at all. Strangely it didn't bother me much.
The Diavel is to cramped for me and the seating position on the Multistrada where just strange for me. So no Ducati. But i knew I had to have a big twin.
And when I discovered that there where a KTM dealer just 2.5 hours away with a GT in stock that I got for a really god price the choice was simple.

Nice on buddy ...BUT I have just found out that all KTMS are on world wide recall due to a wiring loom fault and ABS and brake failure.
Make sure the work has been done before u accept it.

Thank you for info. I have understood that the recall only was for the Super Adventures. Will check it out.
There was two recalls for the GT as of 9/12-16. Replacing the sidestand and reprograming the exhaustvalve.
This will be fixed before delivery.

 I have heard about the sidestand issue and am sure that its an easy and quick fix

The recall applies to the 990 adventure upwards... according to my sources

The recall is for the abs ,dodgy pipe or cable , the 990 not been recalled ,  my 1050 ,which is the same as the 1190 ,bar detuned engine , I have had no letter as yet , me mates not had one yet for his 1290 adventure yet either,

Yep my mate has the 1250 super gt wot ever and he hasn't had the recall YET ..but I stand corrected on the 990    T.Y

Did check out the KTM international web site.
You can put the VIN in their service/safety site. No recalls found for the GT.
Picking it up tomorrow.
Maybe the weather will show me some mercy, so I get to ride it before parking it in the garage.
