I don't remember if it was here or on our forum but someone had it corrode through.  Probably not a bad idea to take it loose and inspect it once in awhile.  Pretty awful place to put it if you ask me.

They are .. however divvent panic about it gettin splattered in muck ... it needs a pretty good airflow to cool it ... if it gets too hot it will go into thermal runaway and chuck out a zillion volts etc .
The electronics are sealed in resin and can't and don't get wet .
If you have got the cooling fins clogged with crap ..just flush it out .... as for the connection ...ACF 50 on and down the connectors ..jobs a gudun
