TT have apparently modified the latest 400s to overcome this problem

They have removed the glass and replaced it with tiles and a gutter  :whistling:

i've just sent my tom-tom rider 400 back, for repair/replacement under warranty.i told a mate who purchased one the same time as me about the RAIN ISSUE with the screen,he wasn't having any of it,i told him to switch it on and flick water at the screen and see what happen's,he also has the same problem, the map page goes and the main menu page appears,he was not at all impressed.

Chap Chaps Chaps .. and Debs of course.
I am sorry to hear of the Tom Tom problems and it won't help you, well it may do if you decide to buy another make, but why oh why did you not buy a Garmin ? TT sites are littered with problems and I'm not saying that any Garmins out there have never been sent back but in todays world you very much get what you pay for. Sat Nav, textile bike gear, boots, gloves, helmet cams ... of course your £200 new "waterproof" jacket is going to leak when it rains and I am well aware that not everyone can afford expensive kit but buy the best you can because in the long run it will save you time money and stress.
I do NOT want this to come over as " I told you so " in anyway its simply an point of view and I hope you don't mind me airing it.

The report I read indicated that the 'rain problem' with the TT 400 was limited to a small number of units in the initial production run.

I believe that a later TT 410 unit has recently been released.

Furthermore TT will surely sort out problem units under the terms of their warranty

I had  a TT Rider about 8 years ago and it was ok, albeit it would be somewhat dated in todays market

I don't understand how the faulty TT units ever reached the consumer  don't they test these units under the conditions they are going to be used in, you know, motorbike - no roof -  UK - rain?
XJ600, VFR800, CBR1100, Varadero1000, CBR1100, STX1300, GTR1400 ?
