Bloody hell ...how do you ride your bike 30mph tyre as square a a brick....Ive never got anything like that out of a Motor cycle tyre...amazing millage.
What tyre you using. I will try one next time , but dont reckon Ill get any where near that sort millage out of it.

PR3s and mainly motorway mileage. Still a couple of k left in them, but for the damn puncture.

Trust me, its never at 30mph

Ah ha...I see. How square is the tyre ?

Boomer

I got 8,000 out of my rear PR3 and about the same from the PR2 it replaced.
They were both badly squared but not enough to seriously affect the handling.
I was caning the nads off the PR3 on a twisty route home (Crawley to Sevenoaks via Edenbridge) just 2 days before I had it replaced.

Strangely I never had any problems with the BT-021E rear but the front was positively dangerous after just 2000 miles.
I'm heavy (26Stone) and I am not gentle with it. I love hard acceleration but have to admit that I rarely use the back brake.
Still have the OEM rear pads in there at 43,500 miles. Front pads died at 25k and were replaced with EBC HH.

Looks like I may just manage 2 rears to one front but maybe not.
Have about 4mm left on the front and the rear is 2500 miles in from new.
Do ya reckon I can squeeze 5500 miles out of 3mm tread on the front?
Nah, me neither. <LOL>

Hi, No one has mentioned the Bridgestone BT-023 tyres I have had always had these fitted on all  of my 5 Blackbirds with great results. Also on my ZZR1400 they transformed it from OEM BT-014 that were fitted. The Triumph Tiger 1050 I have just sold had 023 & they preformed fantastically in the wet as well as in the bends. Has anyone tried them on the GTR? :D

Kwikasfuki

Doesn't the '10 model onwards come with BT023s?

PR3 is the way to go

I wish they had of done but mine came with BT021's
There are only solutions

100milesaway

My 011 came BT21 u fitted as standard and I must be the only person on the planet who thinks they are not bad :-\ :o They dont fill me with lots of confidence in the wet, but in the dry I find them fine and I do like to have a bit of fun :D :: They have done 4000 miles now and will probably do 6000 which for such a big heavy bike is ok. I will probably replace them with Road smarts as I have had lots of good reports on them. ;D
What would you rather be   or a wasp?

I've seen Geoff on his BT021s an very impressive he is.

Must do that ride again sometime

I had no problems with my BT021s, now have a BT023 on the back after a puncture, no problems with this tyre either.

Mind you I haven't tried PR3s on a bike yet, so may be swayed onto them if they are 'better'

I don't think there are any truely bad top range tyres out there anymore.

Rusty

PR 3's being fitted in the morning ... oh... it IS morning ... that's what happens when you work shifts !!  Well then in a few hours ... booked in for 0900 hrs and then out for a quick ride about .. making the most of this warm sunny weather. Will update soon   ;D

Kwikasfuki

Replaced old pr3s with new today. I reckon I could have got another 2k miles at least.

Anyway, new ones are on. Made sure I greased the splines at the same time. Unfortunately didn't take pics.

Just the rear. The front has tons of mileage left yet

Ah ... now that's better. Both fitted and being run in over the next few days ....

Lonewolf

Rusty, let us know what your professional opinion of the PR3's is wont you once you've done a few miles on them.
