Off top the Is;e of man tomorrow ( Thursday) 12 day trip. Time to immerse myself in a paddock full of bygone racing bikes, and lots of lovely two strokes.
Can't wait to get into the paddock and get a fix of burnt Castrol R.
Back on the the 5th September with just 4 days to do my Dhobi and re-pack ready for the trip to the Hartz Mountains, sadly this is the last tour for this year...but hey April 2017 is not that far away

I will also be in the Isle of Man next week, currently going on Monday but trying to change the ferry to Sunday, coming back on the 3rd Sep.

Luckily were staying in a house which is actually on the circuit and the front garden is a marshals post at the end of the Cronk ya Vody (sp) straight so we have a great place to view.

To Mr Iamkwackers.

Does your GTR have two stickers on the lower screen area one being I think a IOM one?

If so I spotted it in the pits Thursday lunchtime, I hung around for a bit just in case but then the other lads wanted another squirt around the circuit.

Sat as I was at the end of the Cronk-y-Voddy straight on the garden wall with the marshals we were suitably impressed with the quick riders. Even the slower riders were quick.

Great weeks racing.

Hey Big Alan, that was my bike in the pits, sorry I missed you. Do not know how we missed each other as I was in a home stay in Kirk Michael and went to Cronk-y-Doddy ( Farmers field with refreshment van & Toilets) on a couple of occasions...The Bungalow on the mountain , Braddan Bridge and at the end of Saddle road in Kirk Michael.
Had a few runs round the circuit and clocked 141mph from the bridge at Bungalow down to Creg na Ba.....not bad for a fully loaded tourer.

Did you get out to Jurby ? some interesting bikes out there along with a lot of the old riders ( Parrish, Plater, Crosby, ) oh yes and of course Henry Cole .
All in all had a great time and was so pleased for Maria Costello grabbing a 3rd place on a 500cc paton, Mcguiness taking the win ( also on a Paton). Maria is one gutsy lady and thoroughly deserved the 3rd place.
If and when I get time I will try and post some pictures.....bit busy getting ready for my next trip this Saturday 10th September when I leave for the Hartz Mountains.........hopefully the road blocks in Calais will be gone by then  :censored:

Oh well another time.

If you were in the farmers field at the end of the Cronk-y-Voddy straight I was staying in the house the marshals were using, we used to chat with the marshals and sit on the garden wall as the nutters came past.

We had a few trips around the circuit and the best I got was approx 130mph but can't say where as it might have been somewhere I should not have done it.

Went to Jurby for the sprint races whatever that day was, I had a friend who in practice week dumped his TZ 250 along Sulby (selby) straight at 130 so that was trashed.

Been to the Hartz mountains and it's a wonderful area, we were in Baden-Baden earlier in the year and traveled around.

Have fun there.

Hopefully your mate is ok ? did hear of a few riders that came to grief in practice, worst one was flown to hospital in Liverpool, head injuries, initial news was not good but later heard he was out of danger and on the way to recovery.

I was staying with Robin Beck ex Manx racer who had taken his Suzuki 350 over for the parade lap and to give it a few runs at  Jerby....all went well and he had a great time.

Here is a link to his parade lap......https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKHplQriZ_4&feature=youtu.be

Also done the Hartz before and ridden from Baden Baden on the B500 ( now spoilt because of all the speed limits). Looking forward to getting back out there, staying in Bad Lauterberg and riding the beautiful twisties for four days. May try to get to Colditz Castle and will be calling in to Belson memorial on the way to our base hotel.  Hopefully will have some piccies on my return.
Glad you had a good time and look forward to meeting up ( maybe at the annual meet 2017)

If you can get to Colditz do it, it's one hell of a place, stayed two nights there, hardest bit was seeing it from the town supermarket car park but not working out how to get to it, I will leave that challenge to you.

A group of us are off to Yorkshire early October for a blast.

Have fun.

Might use the Satnav for Colditz.....wonderful things to get you where you want to go, but not necessarily on the roads you want to go  :mfr_lol:

Have a great time in Yorkshire, nice roads and nice folk.....well I know OC is...

I know OC and 100milesaway who used to frequent this place, now a turncoat as he has a Versys 😀

We will be meeting them both for a ride out as they know the best places and roads.
