How Does This Rate / Did I Do on my 1st Tour

Just back from my 1st Tour on my 2010 GTR. 6 days away with 4 days travel to spain and back., was a great time away to the Catalan GP.  So, we left Cambridge for Dover last Thursday and 1st stop/hotel was Brive in France, Day 2 saw us hit the road for Andorra and up and over the mountains and then drop down to a place i go to called Nautic Almata for a coke and then on to Llortet de Mar.  2 days flat to Sunny Spain.  then 3 nights stop (Fri, Sat, Sun) and we set off again leaving Lloret for Bourges.  then 4th day back to Cambridge.

Total done 2157 miles in 4 days riding - The GTR performed incredibly well.  i really needed the PR4's fitted 2 days before leaving !!!

How does this rate as a 1st go at Touring?

Looks great. Let's hope when we come out of Europe. Travel will still be uncomplicated.

I'm sure it will be fine...  with the Toll roads making a lot for France for Holidayers travelling to and thru I'm sure they wont make it difficult

Looks like a great trip with good milage covered. Did you go on a lot of toll roads or mix it up? Once you have done one trip it gets addictive to do more. Lots to see, do and discover.

Me and a mate had booked the Groupon deal for catalunya GP. 3 nites hotel n 3 days track entry for £159

So we just hammered down Autoroutes. At Orlean we had to detour due to floods. Went over Andorra and up mountains route. Then into Spain on an A road to just do again n again!  We went a bit too crazy but it was hot. The road perfect n no traffic.

I've done quite a few tours but on my GSX14. This was 1st on the GTR. My only niggle was pegs a bit too high for me and I'd like another 2 or 3 litre fuel capacity. Wrist a tad achy but I'll put up with that rather than fit the risers. Think they look like ape hangers then.

As a note... I've a Calsci XL screen. Was great but... I've just removed a Laminar Lip off another screen n fitted it to the Calsci. Let's see how that works

Sounds like you had a ball.... let us know how the laminar lip experiment goes.... did it fit ok, I thought the calsci would be too large for it.

Re the Lip n Calsci- I just offered it up to as far up as poss without danger of being too close to split fairing when drilling. Fits neatly edge to edge. Marked, drilled n fitted !  3 mins.
It it doesn't work I'll just whip it off and revert.
All I'm trying it to have it lower than I do normally but get same effect.
