After much deliberation i decided not to invest in the overpriced farkels rack (only my opinion) and have instead invested in a Givi M35 mounting plate £37.00. The holes in this match up with the rear two holes on the arms on the bike so it was a very easy conversion. I did use the larger bolts supplied by Givi so had to remove the spacers in the plastic rack and the fixed nut beneath then just added a nylock for safety.

Was a bit disappointed that the plate didn't come with the blanking plates to cover the bolt heads  Checked this with the supplier. I Am sure when i bought one of these for the ST a few years back they came with it? Found some online but will cost me another £4.00 if i decide the gaps annoy me.

My bike came with a colour matched top box but as I only use it when I go away and not to keen on add on boxes my take on the plastic givi chopping board bolted to another plastic chopping board so into the workshop I went some 50mm x 12mm aluminium stock remounted givi plate , 4 bolts and job done swap takes about 2 mins , just my take on it .

Thansk OC, yes its the GIVi briefcase for work stuff.

Charlie, good work! that's the reason i went for the M35 plate, its metal and the holes line up with the bikes rack arms arms. seen plastic ones bolted to plastic on other bikes and really didn't like that idea with the laptop in the case.

Charlie, that's a MonoLock plate (slots in the bit nearest the pillion). MonoKey plates have lugs near the pillion end and are generally a lot wider.

Neat job though

Now I know thanks, never had a top box as an add -on goldwings came with them as I said only did it because it looked like two plastic bread boards ,, the rails I made can be spaced up to lift the breadboard above the grab handles should I ever get another givi monkey topbox.
