 :agree:.........................but what if?
Ok petition now has 14,685 signatures, thats 2000 more than a few days ago, and we did our bit as far as I'm concerned!
And read the petition, is this asking for parity with car scheme and emissions?................NO!
The object is to judge the number of folk who feel it worth putting their name against such a cause, the numbers that have show the interest.
Issue- those in Government think they are elected to "POWER" :censored: The state of the country reflects that!
My vote went to a candidate who hopefully was elected to "SERVE", so let's hope they take notice.
If you decide not to sign, your opinion, and freedom of speech allows you to say that! But if by chance some miracle happened and and M/C's became tax free would you thank those who voted for it..............hmmmmmmmm :undecided:
Think my horse is a tad bigger than a soap box, better get off before I fall!
Thanks to all that signed up, nothing ventured eh!
Hope it's a good weekend for all!
Patience is something you admire in the driver behind you and scorn in the one ahead.

I have signed this petition, but at the same time, just like Viper I do not begrudge paying the annual duty. I have a choice, if I don't want to pay it, I could always sell the bike.

Do we moan about paying our car tax....no, because we know that we have to pay it to keep legal and keep our cars on the road. Same applies to the bikes.

Ant

That's about 1.1 million quid, roughly the same amount of bikes that attend the ride to the wall in a good year.

Then of course there's perhaps 3 times that amount, that don't attend.

Would you write off 4 million + from your income ?

I wish the petition the best of luck and hope something good comes out of it, if it gave a concession,  alas they would only claw it back elsewhere, which would perhaps make some other people ( even yourself ) worse off over a yearly period.

This is what happened last time. Governement response 2/3rds of the way down the page (though it's worth reading it all).

I doubt the response will be much different this time (despite the subtle difference of abolition vs parity).

Am I right in assuming that the word "not" was missing from your post

Bikes are to part of the stricter emissions regulations in the forthcoming years and so there may well be some changes to motorcycle VED . ? just a thought
