Just done shy of 100 miles on new front EBC discs and pads. Very impressed so far and this is during the break in period. The discs aren't cheap at £300 for the pair, but beats paying £600 for the Kawasaki ones (and then pads on top)

I'll update in a few weeks when they are fully bedded in

Did you get the discs replaced FOC due to the tyre change incident recently?

Some people on here have used the Chinese discs available through Ebay and have been pleasantly surprised.

:agree: EBC discs and pads are the duck's guts. I put these on mine at 39000km and now at 78000, and very little wear on the disks and about half way through on the pads. Happy days! Bought them from the US before our $ fell against it - it would be pricey now! Would never put the Chinese crap on!

Each to their own.
After nearly 30k miles on my Chinese Arashi disks I won't waste money paying EBC etc.prices again.
Cost £140 for both front disks, fitted with Ferodo HH pads that lasted 20k miles.
Now running EBC HH which are better than the Ferodo HHs.
No obvious wear on disks in 30k miles and stop just as good as OEM disks.
Have them on my GTR1000 as well.

It will be interesting to see if the EBC pads last longer and wear the disc more.  30k miles on a heavy bike like ours is good going 👍😃

EBC are very good and well tried and tested ... won't go wrong with those my friend.

The repetition is growing. I am still waiting to hear more about long test results

Not at all - in fact the wear on them is way less than the originals were (done more K's now on the EBC's than I had on the originals when I had to swap them after the morons at the shop I bought the bike from put new (crap) pads on and fitted them wrongly (they were cheap crap Ferodo pads but shouldn't have worn to the backing plate in 5000km!). Bottom line is - there are too many crap service people in the shops here and it's hard to find a good one - looks like I should start doing more work on the bike myself - if I wasn't so time poor!. And, I will always now spend a little more and use EBC.
