Debs

I have been looking at the Zumo 660.

I use the TomTom Go App on my Samsung.. I find it good but the app crashed over the weekend and so I had to reinstall it. I also have had to email customer support to help me log in to update my existing maps as I can't remember which email address and password I used.. doh..

A question I have is... Does the Zumo show distance to nearest petrol station?

The TomTom Go does and I find that very useful especially when I'm abroad and don't know the area.

As you can see on the pic.. The Petrol stations are shown to the right with the distance to the nearest one shown below..

Yes the Zumo 660 does tell you the location of petrol station, Hospitals, Police stations and AA roadside assistance. These can all be found within the "where am I" section of the device

I would imagine that Apps on a smart phone may well provide further info as all devices seem to offer something different/ better than the next

So you have to go to another screen to see these? It won't show on the main screen while riding?

O.C.

They are within "tools" option then "where am I " option which when selected shows exactly where you are Northings and Westings plus elevation, the same screen also offers information regarding  Hospitals, Police Station, Fuel Station, and AA roadside assistance

This option is accessible whilst on the move although I'd suggest pulling over first as its a little distracting

I probably haven't answered your question correctly Debs, sorry .....

It is possible to view this whilst riding but not without exiting maps first and then going through the motions I described earlier

Hope that's a better answer

Hi Debs.
On the 660 You can go to points of interest and select fuel.
Or press on your icon showing the way and it will give a list of things close to you mine shows fuel hospital and police select fuel and a list appears showing how close they are select one and it directs you there also gives you loads of info about the one selected .
Hope this helps

I also fitted one of the tourotec locking brackets to stop the opertunist thief when paying for fuel or a few minutes  away from the bike part no below £135 but I think it's worth it.

Like the video there OC, only trouble is, I'm tempted to get a 590 now!
It might be a case of buying for buying sake though, as I still think the 660 does everything I need it to, and got me to Sorrento and back without a hitch this year.... decisions!

I also have the 660 which basically does what I need, however this video clip has demonstrated to me that the 660 has been superseded by the 590,

So do I need a 590 to replace my 660. ..I'm going to look at the 390 to see if it will do first

I looked at the 390 a while ago, and as far as i'm aware, it doesn't play music. I do like to listen to a few tunes on a long trip, so it would have to be the 590... a little pricey

the music facility on the 660 is good but to be honest I haven't used it that much, and loading is a bit fiddly

I can see the benefits though

i have the 590 becase i ride about the country for work. i needed a decent unit. very happy with the 590. and you can store loads on MP3 on it without needing a memory card.

loads of points of interest garages and other apps on it to keep you entertained on long journeys. i have it linked to my phone so that if there is a huge delay it automatically reroutes around it and gives weather information too.

I plug the micro card in a card reader cost about £4 and cut and paste direct from my laptop .
No problem just make sure they are MP3s format I convert them in iTunes just right click on track and
Select MP3 and another one appears by the selected one and just copy and paste to the micro card.
Hope this helps
