So there I was yesterday other half away on not her hen weekend. The house needs sorting so my first job is to take things to the garage. The first thing I thought was " that sun's nice and warm " the second thing was " that bike looks lonely "  So 150 miles later I've had my first reasonable long run on the beast and the house still needs sorting.
Everything was perfect, except for one thing. My licence is going to suffer without extreme care. Here comes the question, can you get a cruise control for a 1400?

O.C.

There are a number of threads relating to the purchase and installation of cruise control, so without stating the obvious if you use the 'search' option you will find answers there.

No doubt someone will be along to detail their own 'system'

I got the electronic one from Aus.. It's not cheap but it quite easy to fit.. All plug and play. Charlie and BigAlan helped me fit it

With import during it was about £750..

There are cheaper options out there like Murphs but harder to fit.

It's personal choice..

That's strange.  I did the same thing and two pages full showed up.

Click on search at the top, right of Home
In the Search For box I entered 'cruise control'
unchecked the box that states check all
clicked the + sign next to Choose a board to search in
Checked the boxes for 1400 GTR Discussion and the Accessories Farkles and Mods
Then clicked the search box on the lower right

And then, Bingo, two pages of stuff..

Using the  search box at the top right of the home page does indeed only offer this thread.
Must be the settings or something technical.

That seems wild and crazy to me.   Let me check our forum....

I think that the search box on the upper right searches the current board that you're in.  So if you're in the 1400GTR board then that's all it searches.  If you search from the landing page without drilling down then it searches the entire forum.  Learned something today.  I've never used that search box and I've been around this application since 2007.

Use this search option when looking for topics and not the search option on the top right of the page..

virginiajim

Not intuitively obvious to the uninitiated, eh Debs?  You figure search means search but it really doesn't.  They both indicate search but work a bit differently..  Now that I know that, let the searching begin!

Apparently you need to search from the home page, not from a forum page. Got it now  :punk:

Fitting cruise control a lot easier than driving site search function

Why is adding cruise control going to save your license ? Its more self control you may need.....

Cruise control in this country, and wales is pointless unless sat on an empty motorway. Ive never used mine in England or Wales unless its to rest my hand,,,,,,,in Europe however, its a different story. Use it all the time.

The biggest problem I've found with the GTR and C14 is that the bike has a mind of it's own as far as speed.  No matter what speed you go, IT want's to go faster and it's so bloody subtle about sneaking past the posted limits.  You are so happy riding it you don't pay attention and that's where it gets you.  I've caught myself going 75mph+ in a 55mph posted road in the blink of an eye.  Self control...well, I've never had much of that.  CC would be invaluable over here in the US.  The masses are clamoring for it on the C14..  Don't know why Kwackers is ignoring that request.
