Is due to be announced in November and the colours will be Kawasaki green and 08 black. That's the rumour going around at the moment. Looks like the US red is discounted for another year.

I've just conjured up in my mind an image of a green GTR1400 and it doesn't look pretty.  :-\

Kwikasfuki

Green is the classic Kawasaki colour but it doesn't appeal to me either. The red though ...

I can see how a Kawasaki sports bike would look good in green because as you say the colour goes with Kawasaki but the GTR tourer, that woud be a definate no in my book.  :-[

Is the red a crisp red or is it more like the burgundy Pan Euro?

maximus

It is a terrific colour.

Pan European is a swear word

Kwikasfuki

I may just well get my black 08 model resprayed to a burgundy

:)  8) That is sweet......why dont we have anything like that now!!!

Sahagun

OK - so colour aside for a minute........(we could always respray if we have to)

What are the latest and greatest technological advances and safety features Kawa have added?

Any ideas?

I very much doubt there will be any major change. The differences between the 08 and 09 models was minor e.g. fuel mapping changes

Consider that Kawasaki already made a major change for the 2010 model, they are most likely to make minor modifications. Increasing the capacity of the fuel tank would be one change that would be most welcome as would CC

I believe the 2011 model has been announced in Australia. The green colour looks more like a British Racing Green

:-\ I'm not convinced it would be my first choice.

Sahagun

I hope it's not going to be green !!!

An outside temperature sensor would be useful on the display panel.

I did suggest "Auto Hold" brakes to Kawasaki last year. They already have these on the BMW X5 car. For those who are unfamiliar with this - when you stop with the "Auto Hold" activated the brakes stay on, even without holding your foot on the brake pedal. The brakes release the instant that the accelerator increase is detected. This I think would be a great safety feature for heavier bikes and totally avoid the need for any hill starts and holding the bike on the brakes when stopped at lights, passengers getting on / off, etc. This "Auto Hold" in the X5 can be activated or deactivated with a switch as required.

Just ideas.

The auto hold, yes we have an X5 and the auto hold or auto brake as its called is a good feature its just a shame about the rest of the vehicle. Total waste of money, but thats a different story!!  ::)

Kwikasfuki

Bit OT, but why don't you like the X5? I was thinking of getting the seven seat version and getting rid of the XC90

What I'd like to see in a new model:

More storage compartments
All compartments and panniers centrally locked
Twin exhausts
More range
Temperature gauge built into on board computer
Electric suspension
Better wind protection

I'll keep it short because this is a bike forum and not one for X5's ;D

They are extremely poor in snow, they have a tendency to slide! They do not have an upper or lower gearbox like a Landrover or other 4x4's. From memory it just has a hill descent button somewhere on the dashboard. I know that sounds very vague but I dont like it so I dont drive it unless I am forced.

We were loaned a Mitsubishi LWB Shogun last winter and that was brilliant.
