Hi there, just bought an 09 reg GTR, but soon realised both headlights arent working neither dipped or full beam work (just the 2 centre side lights) - I've changed the bulbs, and checked fuses under the seat - which are fine. Can anyone help. Thanks

Hi and welcome

Could be a break in the wiring? I'd check near the wiring near the forks.

What about relay switches, are they plugged in. Im wondering if the previous owner had after market lights which were removed prior to selling

Have you put a meter across the wiring to see if there is power going to the bulbs , could be an earth wire

Welcome along Ian.

As has already been said, first check to ensure there is power to the lights ~ check fuses

Ian,

I had the same problem a year or so ago.

Short version of the story is the regulator/rectifier failed, which blew the main underseat relay box, which then loses both headlights.

Long version is detailed here with some fault finding help and pictures - http://www.gtr1400.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=3777.0

I would measure the battery voltage with the bike running, mine was only showing 12.2V when it should have been 14.4V. If your charging voltage is unusual, I reckon you may have the same problem as me.

Hi ,

your bike take rain or you wash recently???

If yes,  you have to spray a spray against moisture and then something like WD40....because the devio-lights block is quite permeable to moisture..

try it ...it's easy and cheapper solutions :mfr_lol:
