Ladies and gents.
I am thinking of changing my 09 baby for a 2011 younger model .
The trade in seems very good what I am looking for the new model is one owner with only 7000 miles on her.
So a younger model with 16000 miles less a no brainer.

I know the newer one has k-act controls with the vast knowledge on here is there anything else I should be aware of.
Thanks in advance Pross

Guess its only better and nicer bike ;-)
Ecomodus, better heat control, dito screen, looking better...

I am still in love with my model 2010+...  It has 50° kms and no problems at all

Hope price difference is not too big ...?

My 09 will need the big service next not much change from £800 + a rear TPS / battery change.
So if I take that into account around £1000/ £1500

Linked brakes?  They feel very different, and there will be a learning curve, after years with standard brakes.  If your Gen 1 is like the US models, the top end isn't limited, like the Gen 2's.  So if you want to travel over 154 MPH, the Gen 2 isn't for you.  Otherwise, the improvements on Gen 2's as previously mentioned are all positive.  Post a pic or two, if you make the change.  tomp

Yes my old one is the af8 with the box on the tank.
I've never been near that speed tomp  :whistling: like you say the linked are a learning curve but a positive one.

I am looking at a couple 1 is a 2011 with 6500 miles on the clock and a 2012 with just over 1200 miles on the clock maybe a £1000 more  which maybe well worth it

The 2012 isn't run in yet  :mfr_lol:

Link brake is no problem and helps in a panic stop

What evidence is available to support the claim that GenII are restricted.  With the amount of drag from the screen etc IMO 150mph ain't bad. Unless you go play on an autobahn with the rich boy and their toys.........then the GTR would not be the tool for the job.

Is this restriction thing something our fellow cousins with silver bikes have imagined to intimidate owners of black ones ?  :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:

Luckily having a world market model I'm hoping I've got an Aussie spec motor as it has more donkeys ...............in my dreams not   :mfr_lol:

My thoughts exactly regarding the 2012 model.
And that was the lowest p/x final figure maybe between £500 and £1000 less

Against The 2011 with 6600 miles around £6000 to £6500 depending on there inspection
So at the moment decisions decisions young man.

Yes taking them for a spin when negotiations are near without fail.
My budget + mine in P/X I should be around the 9500 to 10K mark tops :punk:

The limiter was discovered by Guhl in the USA in the Engine Management firmware.
Set to 300kph on 08/09 models and 250kph on later models.
A stock 08 has been accurately measured at 161mph on a disused aerodrome.
Besides, if ya wanna do silly speeds, buy a ZZR1400.

+1 on that.  I knew there were limiter differences, but wasn't sure how to confirm that knowledge.  My 08 goes fast enough for me.  I've only had it to 135 MPH.  Still very stable, and had more to give, so any year should be more than sufficient in most countries.  tp
