Is there one? cant see it , whats the best place to flush out without removing fairings, I can get top and bottom hose off without removing anything and use a hose pipe ??

virginiajim

Be careful with that.  It's on the left lower side and it squirts like an arterial bleed.  Don't lose the plug or the gasket like I did and then find them after I get the new one's in.

been right round the rad and there is nothing, left as when you are sat on the bike? maybe the gen 2 bikes is different , plastics on or off?

Lonewolf

I did my 2007 GTR and I definitely totally drained the rad as I remember the fun I had re-filling it.  :whistling:

There's definitely a way to do it. I'll just be damned if I can currently remember but I will if you bear with me.

viper

cant see a drain plug unless its on the front and obscured, was hoping to do it by flushing a hose pipe through the top hose , don't want to remove my adventure bars

Lonewolf

Give me a few minutes I'm just doing some research.

viper

also tell me about the fun on refilling , is it a bitch?

Go To the...

2-51 PERIODIC MAINTENANCE in the service Manual...

It says how to do it..

Debs beat me to it but yes here you go.

It can be a bitch refilling as you need to allow the new coolant to settle and expel any air. Fill the rad up and then fire up the beast with the rad cap off. That will help the level to settle by expelling air. You will hear it burping. Do that a few times until the level looks right.

The Service Manual is really good for finding information...  :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:

Yeah I would but I don't know anyone who'd want them.

Put a post up on The Market page and see if anyone is interested
