Been out to one of my favourite coffee places, FH knows which one  :) which gave me an opportunity to play around and fine tune the BT2 Bluetooth headset (Thanks Cartman) and Zumo 550 setup :)

Having decided that while verbal route directions are handy but not essential, the constant beeps reminding me about speed cameras is annoying and stops me listening to the music - decided to forgo the verbal route directions and the speed camera beeps.

The Zumo 550 MP3 sound quality is rubbish, even setting aside it's in mono, so I have decided to have a separate MP3 player wired in  :)

I had my phone connected via the Zumo 550 and the speech quality seems to very good

happy days, glad you're getting it sorted...i'm on the hunt, for a bluetooth jobby for my IPod which will let me connect directly to the BT2.....i have seen a bluetooth enabled MP3 player, but at a touch over £100.00 thats a lot of money!!
It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

We use the Scala Rider and its really good can be used voice activated or also as an open chanel

Hi

One thing I noticed with the Midland BT2 unit is the connector plug for the headset speakers/microphone would occasionally drop out of the Bluetooth unit, which was getting a bit frustrating at times.  >:(

I dropped Midland BT an e-mail asking them if there was anything I could do about this - thinking that there probably wasn't. Anyway it turns out they have had problems with the hard plastic headset/microphone connector plug and they asked me to send it to them. It turns out Midland BT are literally just round the corner from me so I dropped it in to them last week.

Anyway I picked my unit up today. They have completely replaced the headset speakers & the microphone with new ones which now has the newer softer plastic connector, they also replaced the curly MP3 lead which had frayed at the jack plug. They have also undertook a firmware upgrade to the Blutetooth unit so I have the latest functionality.

So I basically have a brand new BT2 setup, apart from the Bluetooth unit itself, at no cost to myself  :)  :) well apart from a 5 minute walk there and back.

I think that this very good customer service on the part of Midland BT.  :)  :)  :)

Kind regards

Steven

It was good service  :)

What did surprise me is the Midland BT place - it is a standard business/industrial unit with no fancy office, reception, displays or anything else - you wouldn't know it was there or what they were selling

Kind regards
