Murph still sells the 90 degree kits.  He told me that they have two sets in stock as of yesterday.  I've asked can he get more.  Can I have a rough count on how many here would like a set?  I'm not promising anything at the moment as his communications is about one email per day and it's painfully slow.  Assuming we can work this out, I'd get a certain number from him and then ship to one of you in one package.  I wish I knew where he got them as I'd go direct but I haven't had any success in that regard.

With that being said, the stocker will fit in an 8mm hole and the length is a good 13mm, so really any 90 degree stem should work with the 1st gen TPMS used in most of our bikes through most years assuming it has the proper gasket and dimensions.  Not that it makes that much difference but the threads are .80 mm.  The second gen TPMS that Kwakers has been using to replace the 1st gen will not work with a 90 degree stem.  Unfortunately it appears that most stems give the diameter of what hole they fit but not the length.

This would work, I think, but it's not long enough based on the thread count. I count about 15 ridges on the stocker.

I believe that it would be less expensive finding something in the UK that would fit.  You now have the specs.  You would have to physically measure whatever you decide to use and someone would need to experiment on the fitment.  Hopefully this helps.

maybe some one who has their TPS units out of the bike currentlt should take a punt on the generic ones available on Ebay, im sure there is one that could fit

this next one has the thread length correct at 12mm( I have an old straight one to check it against) if the thread PITCH is correct , we have a winner!

I don't think that 8.3mm is going to work.  I checked mine against my gauges and it's a tight 8mm and those on ebay don't appear to be long enough based on what my straight OEM looks like.  I have a picture of mine that I'm trying to downsize to upload here.  I'll attach it when I can figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Length of the stocker is about 15mm from end to the bottom of the metal collar.

Got an email from an off road dealer that sells accs mainly for KLR650's.  They have a 90 degree attachment that you use when airing up.  I get their ad emails weekly, so if anyone is interested, I will post the link the next time I get an email.   Just press the adapter onto the valve, and lock into place for airing up.  I don't really mind lying on the garage floor to attach my compressor hose.  Makes me feel closer to the bike.  Hard to get up though, at my age. Oh well, guess that those 90 degree adapters may help after all...

Merry Christmas to all, on your side of the pond.... tomp

I think you will find neither will work Niell without modifying slightly with an adaptor.

Only option is to find a strap, so the sensor can fit around the inner rim. eliminating the need for special valves.  I stuck mine to the inner rim on my trip round France earlier this year and they performed brill, until one came unstuck..........i hoovered it up when home  :whistling:

I beg to differ, if you look at my pictures on page one you will see the actual part that screws onto the new 90 degree valve , the part that clamps the actual tps to the rim, as long as the thread pitch and diameter is the same I cant see a reason why it wont work.

has anyone got that part and can send it to me, the mushroom shape that screws onto the valve

I thought you bought some off me ?

just remembered it wasn't the female part.....nicely ask Doebag if you can borrow one off his smashed bike....

viper

ive just purchased one of these angled valves, if someone can get the female part to me then maybe we can find a solution to help members without sending off to the states

virginiajim

Well, you know what the thread pitch is...at least on US sensors.  Not sure if they are different in the UK.   And you know the length.  If you can't come up with something I'm seeing what I can come up with from Murph and then send to you guys.

You could save the hassle and buy them from Europe

http://www.mynetmoto.com/motorradreifen_divers.cfm/ActiveTab/shopping/ActiveLink/2/motorradreifen_divers.cfm?ActiveTab=shopping&ActiveLink=2&Search=1&category=88&StartRow=0

But I got mine from Murph!

is the listing so that we can buy just the angled part, is it compatible? or are you suggesting we buy the whole set up

LDL Technology are the company that manufacturer the TPS on the GTR1400. On their website http://www.tire-watch.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=40&Itemid=146 they name various companies that distribute their product. My Net Moto sell the TPS by parts on their site.

The part that is required is the 90 degree valve about half way down the page.

But you can check with them or go to Murph.

thanks a great link rotorbike, many thanks
