Well I have taken the plunge and bought myself a Christmas pressie.

I bought it direct from the company in Aus rather than from the UK importer. UK importer wanted £845 but I got it for £605 plus £20 non sterling transaction fee by my bank.

I expected to get hit by import duty/tax but I didn't. whoop whoop.

I ordered it on the 9th and only took 2 days to get here from when they sent it.

Packaged up nicely

All items present with mega amounts of paperwork for fitting, using and troubleshooting.

Now when shall I do it? Hmmmmmm

Lonewolf

Now that is a sweet pressie for Christmas! Postage is usually significantly faster from Oz to UK as opposed to us sending anything even internally.

So the burning question now Deb's is who's going to have the honours of fitting it or are you going to have a stab at it yourself.

BigAlan

I reckon Debs is going to fit it, document it, and then tell us its a doddle to do, then i might get one.

If you want to ride up to Oxford when the weather is better you can use my garage with me watching of course to fit it.

I have a double garage, one side is my GTR and the other is usually free as her indoor's mini is outside, carpet on the floor, and yes the lighting is ok and i have heating if needed.

Your welcome to ride up, i have tools, soldering stuff and large hammers, natural light helps.

Sounds like a plan Alan. I may take you up on the offer. Let me know when you are free.

Charlie you are sooooo bad.  :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:

Charlie747

Deb's it sounds a great project and if you take Alan's kind offer up of warm well lit comfortable working space it will be a pleasure not a pain job.

If the pair of you need extra help please let me know.

Will it be a good day long job ?

Best if it was a weekend, and if a saturday not when the mighty yellows (Oxford United) are playing at home as i am a season ticket holder and always go.

If we get Christmas out of the way then we can resume this in the new year if the weather is ok, three heads are better than two, which are better than one.

We will do that. A Saturday is good for me.
Yes Charlie it will take a good 4 to 5 hours so it would be cool if you came down too. If you are thinking of getting one then best you see how it fits first.

Blimey, that's not cheap.  Works out at about 6000 miles worth of petrol

You could say that about many extras that go on bikes

Lonewolf

Huge respect to ya if you can fit such a thing, I wouldn't have a bleedin clue where to start. The only bike I've ever had with cruise control is my current one and I have to say its a luxury, but an essential luxury!  :mfr_lol:

I find with the mileage I drive to carry out my call plan over the UK and Ireland that it is an essential

It enables you to maintain a fixed road speed which brings the benefits of increased fuel economy, no prizes for driving style, a more relaxed body and mind to look for potential hazards to name but a few benefits.
