rain lifted sun up and its 24hrs till GTR gonna be delivered.
I'm champing at the proverbial 'bit' ere but is chance to tidy up garage.

down ere in the saaarf we got few decent bike cafe's eg box hill, seagull, rye harbour, blue an white cafe an my haunt Wessons at horam. sunday morning one o my fav bits o biking usual agenda is casual ride, count the unmarked gentlemen, catch up with the boys and then race the wife home.

whats the scene on sundays for you's lads ridring in t'dales and yonder dry-stone-wallville ??

Ps does black pudding clog the exhuast

Lonewolf

Cant answer the Black Pud question but Sundays would be a gentle cruise probably to the coast, Whitby, Brid, Filey etc, or alternatively head out to one of our many National Parks for a bit of R & R.  ;D

Unfortunately I'm working today but I'm off Monday to Wednesday and the weather's still supposed to be excellent so I predict a bit of a ride coming on.  :)

Therenback

class, weather predicted good up your way for next few days so far, i've pulled 2 14hr shifts on first wkend with GTR but am overtime junkie. did u enjoy your trip away ?

Lonewolf

The trip was brilliant and can't wait to something a bit more adventurous next time although Scotland is and always will be a favourite with bikers.

If you fancy something more adventurous, there's a group of us heading over to the Mosel valley in Germany end of next May.....you'd be more than welcome.....myself and route master will be there ;D
It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

I'm not a huge fan of Germany if I'm honest. I used to live out there for a number of years and it didn't really do anything for me. I'm fond of Spain and I speak a little of the Spanish lingo so ultimately that's where I'm hoping to venture.

I do appreciate the offer though.  ;D

Yes thats very true. But having lived out in Deutschland & De Nederlanden I'd love to visit Spain on two wheels.  ;D

Germany is fun but you need to get off the beaten track.
Thuringen is nice, empty roads and excellent scenery.

Holland is IMHO not a biking country. Too many cameras, too much traffic, not many twisties, and SLOW!

If you want a fun long weekend, head to the Belgian/French/Luxembourg Ardennes.
Takes a day to get there and I can guarantee that wherever you ride in that area you will find biking nirvana, if you manage to pick a dry weekend.

My favourite day ride is to start near Namur, follow the Meuse towards Rocroi (ancient walled town) for lunch, then follow the Meuse/Semois to Herbeumont and then to Neufchateau. Plenty of hotels in Neufchateau.
This is a faster ride with mostly sweepers and scenery but more traffic from Namur-Dinant.

Day 2 head for Tintange, Esch-sur-Sure, Gobelsmuhle, Weidingen/Wiltz, fill up before you leave Luxembourg and finish at Bastogne.
This is a day to be sober and focused. From Esch to Wiltz you will be in some serious twisties at times.
Esch is very scenic but touristy. The 27 from Esch to Gobelsmuhle is rough in places and only 1½ cars wide so watch out for oncoming boy-racers in Subaru Imprezas.

If yer a beer monster then you need to visit Chimay and Rochefort in the Ardennes.
Rochefort 8 is my all time favourite beer and Chimay Blue ranks top 5 for me.

See thats why i like Germany...its a huge place!! and a lot to do...a lot of history there to. I lived there for 5 years and so the area we are heading too is somewhere i am familiar with, having travelled alot through the Northern Stadt's. It also helps that i can speak German...which gives me a feeling of ease when i am over there....its familiar...which is nice.

However horses for courses and all that!...spain is on my list......but i am involved with a touring a club, and more than anything i go anywhere, cause of the folks who come along, a great set of funny funny people. So i end up going where the club goes. We are going to the dolomites this autumn, but i am not on that trip....i have strict instructions from SWMBO to save 2 weeks in september for a trip to the states. Sadly she 'doesn't do' bikes, so i have to divide my time  :'(
