Hey.  I'm from the US site and the same thread has been going for days now.  Most everyone over here wants to PooPoo this procedure, but the video clip there shows it works.  Remember the red ignition switch has to be on, too to make it work.  i did mine and it lowered the idle speed, but I didn't really have a problem with snatchy acceleration before the procedure was done.

I have had to do this on a BMW and a Triumph before to recal the TPS, so even if Kawi doesn't mention it in the manual, it still seems to be a problem corrector for the TPS .  Just saying. . .  tomp

Just done mine and about to go out for a bacon sarnie.

Will report back BUT I am in the "I can't see how this can do anything camp". We will see.

Bacon replaced with choccy sponge at Southwold pier :)

Diddly squat difference ... as expected. Still a bit hesitant on very small throttle openings (which is easily ridden round or adapted to).

I was about to post just this when I saw it on the ZGGTR forum by user Rembrant.

"I suspect what is happening with the two full rotations of the throttle is that people are freeing-up stuck or sticky throttle cables, or perhaps dirt and debris is lodged inside the throttle tube housing, or between the throttle and the handlebar, etc."

The OP replied after REM, and described the changes that were made after the recal.    I guess this is one of those never ending questions, like, is there or is there not  a Santa Claus. . . ?

I hear you and partly agree, however, lets talk about a different vehicle.

Vauxhall Vivaro, Renalt Traffic - what the reset procedure for the service light?

Renault Trafic (2001-present), Vauxhall Movano (2007- present), Vivaro (2007-present)

Turn the Ignition ON (position 2) but do not start the engine
Within 100 seconds of turning the key, press the accelerator pedal to the floor and hold it down
While still holding down the accelerator, press and release the brake pedal twice, then press it a 3rd time and hold it down
Release both pedals
Within around 10 seconds, the Oil Service warning light should turn off
Immediately Turn Ignition OFF, then within 3 seconds turn it back ON (position 2)
Turn Ignition back OFF to complete

This procedure is not in the manual!  So why wouldn't kawasaki hide something like this in their firmware for the GTR....  other car manufacturers also do this... and seeing as kawasaki have many fingers in many pies - i.e.... Kawasaki Heavy Industries (basically Motorcycles are Kawasaki's toy box).

doing what I do, requires a lot of very small throttle openings, more so than on a track - its not pin it and hope!  I think there is some mileage in it, and it has certainly improved throttle response, but its not perfect.  If you want perfect - buy a Honda!

Just my additional 2p worth!

I believe there is a Santa, for sure.  Seems he rides an R1100RT today, though...

I did the procedure and it didn't do anything for my bike, but then I wasn't having any of the issues with the throttle that others are having.

Did it to mine and no change.
Then again I wasn't having the problems shown in the video.
My problem is the transition from off throttle to part throttle.
It's not bad but when filtering/lane-sharing you are constantly adjusting the throttle and it gets to be a real PITA.
Someday I'm gonna try the after-market throttle tube fix but I think it's an inherent problem with fuel injection as they all save fuel by switching off all fuel delivery below a certain throttle position.
Perhaps a Power Commander might help with this.
On my ancient carb fuelled bike there is absolutely no snatchiness what so ever.
